Layla pulled my hand, trying to get me to stay with her. "Honey? What's going on? Are you not happy to see me? Who is she?" She questioned. I turned and looked at her. After seeing my mate, Layla is nothing compaired to her. Alexandria had long, brown hair with beautiful hazel eyes. Layla had short blonde hair and brown eyes. Her face was always caked in makeup. "She's-" I started, but Layla interuppted me.

Bella breathed slightly, she hoped she did not sound suspicious. "Yes there are alot of flowers. Roses, hibiscus, Aster, Azalea, Black-Eyed Susan, Buttercup, California Poppy, Chrysanthemum, Crocus, Daffodil and lots more." Queen Selene said, concentrating on her knitting. "Wow that is a lot of flowers." Bella breathed out, staring at the vampire queen who winked down at her in a playful manner. "I studied botany so am a botanist, that is why I have a vast knowledge when it comes to flowers and plants."

The florist was a short drive away, and as I navigated through the bustling streets, I thought about how much Alina had come to mean to me in such a short time. When I arrived at the florist, I was greeted by the sight of vibrant blooms in every hue imaginable. Among them, a bouquet of red roses caught my eye. They were classic and timeless, a symbol of love and passion. I thought to myself, surely all women liked roses, and I hoped that my mate would appreciate them as a token of my affection.

Iris said, watching him move through the garden with obvious familiarity. "As I know them." He paused beside a bed of flowers that resembled nothing she'd ever seen—blooms that shifted color with each breath, petals that seemed to be made of crystallized moonlight. "This one Eleanor cultivated specifically for my needs. She called it Rosa eternis—the eternal rose." When he touched the flower, it responded with a note so pure and beautiful that Iris felt tears spring to her eyes. The plant's glow intensified, and its voice joined the chorus with what could only be described as contentment.

Different colors of roses were present. Red, blue, yellow, orange, pink, white. She had never seen a blue, yellow, or orange rose before but she's heard of red, pink, and white roses in the storybooks. Red was the most common. Everyone knew what a red rose was but yellow? That was something new. Lilies, tulips, hibiscuses, daises and so much more were in the flower garden. The flowers were scattered amongst the field. They did not have a particular arrangement but it was better that way. It couldn’t be any prettier.

I give them to her. "I love roses but the fact you brought the red ones scores you another point in my book." she smells them. "Good to know that." I grin. "But you know you needn't have brought them anyway." she stares. "I wanted to." I reply. I was passing this flower shop when I saw these good looking roses. My mind immediately went to Della and I knew I had to get her a bouquet. "Okay. A minute, I need to put these in a vase." I wait for her from outside before she returns all set. We get inside the car and I fire the engine to the busy street.

I wasn't about to wreck a home. "So dumb." I wipe my eyes on my knees, but the tears don't stop. I look up and can see people making their way through the trees towards me. I sniff and rest my chin on my hands. My eyes trail down, and through my blurry vision, I can see dozens and dozens of flowers blooming around me. I furrow my brow, wiping at my eyes again and moving to sit on my knees and crouch over the flowers. I hadn't wiped my hands on the ground, but they were still blooming. Pink ones, purple, white. Still smaller than a quarter, but slightly bigger than the last ones I made bloom. And there were a lot more of these too. They continued to appear around where I sat as I watched.

I brushed my thumb over the petal and explained, “Why black rose? I want to know.” His eyes were fixated on the rose in my hand as he swallowed before opening his mouth, “Because nothing depicts me better than a black rose. The black rose is a symbolic flower with multiple meanings and interpretations. It represents intensity, darkness, passion, rebellion, and dominance, all of which resonate with my personality. A black rose is also a symbol of mystery, unknown, and unrequited feelings, which perfectly portrays whatever is between us.”

The look on his face was calm and steady. I held the bunch of flowers closer to my heart, Gideon ripped them away and said with scorn, “ There are 5 flowers of romance here: Rose, for deep affection; Tulip, to declare your love and affection; Orchid, to show how beautiful you think she is; Lily, to signify innocence; and Carnation for admittance.” My heart dropped, I wasn't breathing. I stared keenly at Charles, waiting for his response. He laughed, and he said, “ Brother, are you scared?”
