Hailey and I both went to the dinning as we both finished out left overs. We discussed for a while and helped my mother with the dishes before leaving the house. As we strolled down the road that distanced our houses, my eyes caught up with something. Nana’s building. Nana is an old woman who use to be my caretaker back when I was little. I loved her so much just as I’d love my own grandmother. I didn’t call her all these years after I left. I couldn’t be blamed though. Her grandson broke my heart. He cheated on me and left me heartbroken. But I know she doesn’t deserve it. She wasn’t the one who hurt me. It was her stupid grandson.

Unexpected Encounters Valenticia’s POV~ The day I picked up Nana from Willow Creek Elderly Home started with a buzz of excitement. I woke early, made coffee, and packed a bag with her favorite things—chamomile tea, a soft sweater, and a photo album of us with Mom. Knowing she’d finally live with me felt like a weight lifted. Her pneumonia had scared me, and having her close meant I could keep her safe. I drove to the home with my mind full of plans. Her room was ready, with a cozy bed and a small table for her tea. At the office, I’d cleared my afternoon to focus on her move, balancing work and family as best I could.

Nana tells me, "Oh, yes, we need juice, would you mind running to the shop? I'll get my neighbor's children to show where the shop is, is that okay?" I nod and smile at her. We walk outside into the yard and my nana shouts to get her neighbor's attention. The neighbor left the house and my nana introduces her to me. She is a tall and gorgeous brunette named Ms.May. She and my nana talks for a while before she goes back inside to get her children so they could follow me to the shop.

Who would visit her this early anyway, much more be bold to enter the Salvador’s mansion? Although groggy, Anna woke up. She went downstairs only to be greeted by an unexpected guest. It is one of their maids. Nana, who took her of her, while she’s young and whom Anna considered as her second family. She was more like a mother to her, although they are not relayed by blood. “Nana!” Her eyes lights up with so much delight. “Young lady!” The old woman showed her joy as well. When they had e gotten closer with each other, they are quick to embrace one another.

STEYN "Here." Nana said, offering me a drink with a smile. "Thank you." I said quietly, retrieving the drinking glass. "Why's your name Nana?" Quietly, she took the vacant space close to me on the patio and began. "I've lived with the Walker's for over twenty years of my life. Ever since Sky was a kid and have served as a nanny to all of them." She told me. "I've been such a huge part of their life, that the kids forget I'm not even a part of their family. They're nice people."

"Miss, you cannot enter without an invitation." I didn't argue. Instead, I called for his assistant to escort me. "Are you blind? This is Mrs. Stone!" His assistant respectfully led me in. I noticed he was sweating, and his hands were trembling. What was he afraid of? Was he scared I would witness something? As I entered the banquet hall, I saw Fiona leaning against Kyron from afar. She looked like a "Mrs. Stone." "Oh, Kyron won't let me drink too much. He's just too possessive."

“Friend, don’t mess around! I'll tell you the real reason for this later, but today we're going home together to enjoy the end of the week. My day off came and yet, I stopped myself from worrying about who Yan would end up with. He himself told me that he wouldn't like me to go, as I would have to live with an old and boring lady. At that time, I laughed a lot, being a child and being real. But I tried to explain that I would be back soon, it was just a weekend and I needed to rest and sort things out before I got back. When he arrived at the end of the afternoon, the lady arrived and she really looked like a boring old woman, but she couldn't do anything because Doctor the ogre was at home

I stood at the front door of an absolute mansion of a house, wondering what lay in store for me on the other side. Remembering the conversation that brought me here when Joe Lawson had messaged me through my socials, I try again to convince myself that this is the right decision. Would I even like being a nanny here? For him?

This house felt more like a museum than a home. I’d spent the last twelve days like a shadow. Eat, sleep, walk and Repeat. The staffs treated me like I didn’t exist. Maybe they were told to. No one made eye contact. No one spoke, unless necessary. Except for Nana—sweet, patient Nana. She was the only one who treated me like I was more than just a guest. A soft knock interrupted my thoughts. “Miss?” Nana’s voice came from the other side of the door.

“I think we should just let him be.” Nana’s head snapped up. Her eyes, usually so calm, were wide with shock. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “I can’t believe you are even saying that, Richard!” she said, her voice sharp, like a knife. “That girl is in no way good for Devon. She is just a surrogate! A hired hand! She should know her place and not try to be smart with this family. She came here, saw all the wealth, all the money she could get through the kids, and now she wants to stay. She wants to pitch her tent here! But that won’t happen on my watch! Not while I am alive!” Her voice got louder with each word, full of anger and a deep, old fear of outsiders.
