“You planned this whole ambush?” Nana lifted her chin, her eyes softening as she looked at them. “I wanted to see it for myself. I wanted to be here to see you both. This day means so much for you two, I couldn't miss it for anything. Not when I can still walk. Even if I couldn't, I would still make it.” Her gaze shifted to the both of them, and for a moment, the sharp, witty grandmother disappeared, replaced by something deeply tender. “And I am very, very glad I did.”
