10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

The Forgotten Mate

The Forgotten Mate

But we couldn't give up; we had to keep searching. Then, on the third day of our clandestine investigation, Ana made a discovery. She found the necklace hidden in a forgotten corner of the palace, tucked away in a dusty, cobweb-covered cabinet. It was a stroke of luck, or perhaps fate, that had led her to that exact spot. I marveled at the necklace's beauty as Ana held it in her hands. It was a stunning piece of craftsmanship, and I couldn't help but wonder why someone would steal it only to hide it within the palace.

Seven Years of Misguided Love,One Goodbye

Ethan only smiled and offered no explanation, urging me to keep going. Finally, we arrived at the last location—a serene lakeside. The gentle breeze rippled across the water’s surface, shimmering under the light. The area was quiet, with nothing seemingly out of the ordinary. I frowned. “Did we come to the wrong place?” Ethan gently patted my shoulder and pointed toward a large tree by the lake. “The treasure is buried right there!” “Really?” I and a few of the kids ran over eagerly, afraid the treasure might sprout wings and fly away.

River witch

But they’re silver. "She’s almost here." Nana’s voice is not her own. "You must go where the debt was made." Mira pieces together an old folktale from Nana’s journal — about a shrine built with bones, once hidden deep in the mangrove. That night, guided only by instinct, Mira takes a rusted lantern and journeys upriver. The mangrove trees creak like they remember her. At the center of it all, half-sunken and veiled in moss, she finds it: a shrine made of driftwood, clay… and human ribs.

The Crown They Buried Me For

The Crown They Buried Me For

A moment later, a small piece of paper and a charcoal lead were pushed through the bottom of the door. Evelyne knelt on the floor and wrote quickly. The fox is in the trap, but the hounds are confused. Look to the Southern Docks, Warehouse 14. The scent of jasmine masks the smell of treason. If you move now, the hunt ends with a new King of Trade. She pushed the note back under the door. "Go," she whispered. She heard Kaelen’s footsteps retreat, hurried and heavy. She sat back against the door, her head resting against the cold iron. She had just handed the Marquis de Valois, a man who hated her uncle, the key to destroying Vincent’s financial empire.

Buried on His Wedding Day

Buried on His Wedding Day

“I have no reason to lie to you. Feel free to check for yourself. But don’t be too surprised when you find out what a wonder woman you abandoned.” After he finished speaking, Milo called the maintenance guy to fix my grave. Lucian left in a hurry, Selene trailing behind him. Milo turned to my tomb with a quiet whisper before he left. “You won’t blame me for telling him the truth, will you?” I couldn’t bring myself to blame him. In fact, I owed him a thank you. "Mr. Carrington, the things you asked me to investigate... I found a lot of photos." As Milo stepped out of his car, his assistant approached and whispered in his ear.

The Birthday That Buried Us

His gaze landed on the urn in my arms, and he knew—I was taking my mom to be laid to rest. He scrambled toward me, clutching at my pant leg. "Jess, please—let me come with you. I just want to see Mom one last time." I pried his fingers off and walked out the door without looking back. The burial site was just as the agent had promised—rolling green hills, fresh mountain air, a quiet peace that stretched for miles. My mom had always said the city was too loud, too busy. She used to tell me that when she was gone, she wanted to rest in the mountains, surrounded by beauty.
