(Isabella POV) "Do you think she will be ok?" I heard Nancy say but I didn't look behind. My mind was filled with Nyx. Is he alright? Is he safe? Will I see him again? "What happened?" I heard a familiar voice. "Daniel!" I heard Nancy call surprised. "What happened to her?" he asked. "Killian is missing," she said as I try my best not to start crying. "What?! How?" Another unfamiliar voice boomed confusing me.

Rexy said. “What? How could you be so careless about such a sensitive matter? Why didn't you tell me earlier?” “Of course, I've been trying to reach you all night but your phone was unreachable. I was only able to get through to you now”. “Okay, fine. Don't worry about it anymore, I will send you the rest of your balance. Just go away from Sun city and never show up before me ever again” Nancy threatened. Then, she immediately ended the call and heaved a sigh of relief.

“Nylah?” “Miss Nylah Steven. Callie’s younger sister. Lucas Hudson is her college classmate. Top grades, handsome, popular. Nylah developed an obsession. She confessed her feelings to him publicly. He refused—politely, from what witnesses said. She didn’t take rejection well.” I leaned back in the chair. The leather creaked under my weight. “So she plotted revenge,” I said slowly. “And used my name—my seal—to throw an innocent man in a cell. Because her pride was bruised.”

I yelled, "Don't touch me! This is assault. I'm calling the police!" Lydia Crayford laughed. "I bring Ms. Collins business, and she brings me someone to play with. Where's the problem?"

Stunned, Bethany chanced a glance at Nancy and remained silent. An excited squeak escaped Nancy's lips. "A-Are you Linden Lane?" "Yeah, I am." "Oh my god!! I can't believe my eyes—my favorite celebrity is standing right before me! Mom, can you pinch me so I know this isn't a dream? Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Slightly frustrated, Bethany chided, "Nancy, stop it. Weren't you praising Mr. Barrett for his looks earlier?" "But Linden is on another level!" Nancy squealed. Staring at him with starstruck eyes, she asked, "Mr. Lane, can I take a photo with you?"

"Nancy, things have been -" "Busy?" she snapped. "Yeah, I noticed. With her." I clenched my jaw. I really did not need this right now. I had dead pack members to think about, a monster tearing through our territory, and now this. But Nancy had never been able to see past her own selfishness. “Her name is Selene,” I said evenly, keeping my temper in check. Nancy scoffed, her lips twisting into a bitter smile. “Oh, I know her name. Everyone has been talking about her. About how she survived the Hole, how she walked out of there like some untouchable legend. And now she’s your mate?”

“Do you want me to call Mr. Coughlin for more bodyguards? I suspect the press will be on your neck for some time after what happened at the function.” “No, I don’t need more security, Naya. The Callahans called her Lanathia. Outside, she went by the name Lana Callahan. As for her real name, she never revealed it to others.
