I felt a surge of anger rising within me, a tumultuous mix of emotions threatening to spill over. "I won't let you," I said, my voice gaining strength despite the fact that I was helplessly bound to a marble table. "I won't be a pawn in your game." Silver's lips curled into a chilling smile. "You have no choice, Lilac. You're bound to me, you have no means to escape with my wraiths all over the place. And when the time comes, you'll see that resisting is futile."
