"I almost died today, Sean. I felt it. It was right there."
"I know," he said. He leaned forward, resting his forearms on the edge of my mattress. He did not touch me, but his presence surrounded me entirely. "But you didn't. You are here."
"There is no cure," I whispered. My voice cracked. The terrifying truth I had been carrying in silence for months finally spilled out. "It's Lunar Decay. The doctor told me it's terminal. I am dying, Sean. I can't stop it."
"Yes, you can," Sean said instantly. His voice possessed a fierce, unrelenting Alpha determination. There was no hesitation in his eyes. "You are not dying. We are not letting that happen."
