My New Neighbour

My New Neighbour

I wondered. I walked slowly towards the window with my arms wrapped around me. I grabbed the window handles to pull them back to close it but I stopped midway when I noticed the lights next door. Who could that be? The house beside us was empty for over a year. I squinted and could actually see the inside of the room through the window adjoining mine. Like seriously, I could strangle the guy who constructed these houses like that. So damn close! Anyway, we finally got some new neighbours. What an odd time to move in though, I couldn't help but think. I just hope they would be nice. My parents could have some pals.

Vette
Will there be a second book? I noticed the author doesn’t comment on anything so I’m gonna guess and say no that the readers don’t seem to matter with zero interaction from the author.. good book though.

I so enjoyed reading this and am so excited to start the second one. This novel was very well written and kept me interested. I like happy endings and the threat of revenge still is something to be aware of. The writer of this story is very talented

Neighbors

Neighbors

Samuel kisses the side of his head, then smiles at him, "I am so proud of you, buddy." "Who is he?" Max stares at Samuel, who is busy talking with Justin. "He is our neighbor," I answer him trying to sound nonchalant. "Neighbor, huh?" Max arches an eyebrow at me, but I don't respond to him, keeping my face free of every expression. "Look, momsis, Samuel came to my game." Justin looks at me with a smile, but I can't bring myself to return his smile. Whenever I see them, there is a twinge of pain inside my chest. It is my fault that he got so much involved in our lives, and now I can't bring myself to cut him from Justin's life.

Not Strangers

Not Strangers

He lowered his hands when he felt the ropes in his legs untied. "Uncle." The little girl stared innocently at the man she recognized, staring at him unreadable. The man called the uncle took his lap by the little girl he loved so much, leaving the room that smelled fishy. The little girl wrapped her tiny hands around the man's neck, staring illegally at the man who had killed her parents lying covered in blood on his head and chest. Without his uncle knowing it. He waved his hand at his parents who were lying stiff. 1 year later ..

Graycorts

“Are both of you Rushing?” I shook my head. “Kam is, but I’ve got other things I need to focus on.” They weren’t like the jerks next door. They seemed all right, and I figured I could be nicer to them than I had planned. “Hey, tell me about your neighbors. What are they like?” They both rolled their eyes. “What do you want to know?” one asked. “Whatever you can tell me,” I said. “Go get him a beer. We’ll need at least one each if we’re talking about PLP.”

The Stories Of Those Around Us

The Stories Of Those Around Us

"I don't really feel like going to school anymore." "Weren't you the one who told me not to cut my classes yesterday?" "That was then, and this is now. Come on. It'll be fun." I eventually agreed. To be honest, it's not that I don't trust Crimson. Well, it kinda is, but I mean it's just weird for him to just invite me to his house like this. Just like my situation with White, we barely know each other. Don't they have any sense of danger? Surprisingly, Crimson's house was just really near that park. It was a simple apartment complex. We opened the door to his apartment, when suddenly, something jumped towards me.

A Story That Doesn’t Belong To You

A Story That Doesn’t Belong To You

It was plotting. That evening, they attended a gathering at Adrien’s cousin Jenny’s house. Jenny had become one of their most surprising allies, and her open smile when she welcomed Ryan made him breathe easier. For once people didn’t stare with thinly veiled disapproval. They sat together, shared wine, laughed at Jenny’s attempts to get Adrien to dance. But the whispers returned even here. Ryan caught them at the edges of conversation, snippets of relatives lowering their voices when he passed. “…heard something about his past…”

I'm the Stranger in Our Family Group

I'm the Stranger in Our Family Group

It was a weekend, and Hector took me out to the countryside to see the autumn leaves turning red. On the drive back, I was mindlessly scrolling through my phone when a local news alert caught my eye. It was a breaking story from my hometown. "Elderly Resident Trapped as Fire Hits Residential Complex; Firefighters Respond". The accompanying photo showed a dilapidated apartment building engulfed in thick, black smoke. As I stared at the image, my grip tightened around my phone. That was my parents' neighborhood. After an agonizing internal debate, I finally dialed the number.
