“I would sense the magic if it were so.” I dismounted and unsaddled Coryfe as the mage sat on one of the branches of the fallen tree and drew from a bag he wore under his cloak, a small book, bound in leather, with curls of metal protecting the corners and clasping the covers shut. “We need a fire,” he said to me, his fingers stroking the cover reverently. There was no writing on the cover or binding, but I could see something had been embossed into the leather. Perhaps the embossing was the shadow of writing that had once been picked out with ink, but which time had faded or flaked away.

It was hand written. She went on, flipping the book and stopping to read through some parts of it. It was a book about spells and she found herself laughing at the silliness of the thought that magic was still in existence. Some of the spells in the book made Matilda to shake her head and conclude that the book had been written during the time that witches existed. Some of the recipes in the book had ingredients like a two day old crow's blood, the crushed bark of a cider tree, four leaved clovers, mint leaves that had bloomed in the summer and many other bizarre ingredients.

Raven stepped into the library, looking at the mounds and mounds and stacks and shelves of books all around her. She could not remember one time ever seeing a library as boundless as this one. She walked alongside the stacks and started reading the types of books that were included in this library. She found there were books of all the creatures in the land. There were books about caster magic, human magic, the magic animals, the bitten, the history of the bitten and many many many other books. She took an interest in a thick, black, leather book, pulling it off of the shelf she noticed the dust being disturbed as the large book slid off of its place and her hands. ” Sofia rose from the table and went into the other room, “Follow me.” I rose and joined her in the next room, which was packed floor to ceiling with shelves of books. “I hate to see you stuck between your word and your destiny.” She said, cryptically, placing a few musty-smelling books in my arms. “Let’s postpone your decision until you’re more sure of your own mind, shall we? Take these, look them over. They will help you understand more of how to use your magic.” I looked at the titles of the books curiously. ‘Under a Full Moon’, ‘Selene the Blessed’, ‘To Ride A Wild Hunt’, and one enigmatic tome titled ‘Panacea Obscura”.

Eleanor’s POV My heart skipped a beat as I spotted a book bound in black leather. Gold letters on the cover proudly declared its title: "Mastery of Magic." A shiver ran down my spine as I opened it, scanning its pages for any guidance on the powers that had both blessed and troubled me. There, written in simple and clear words, was a guide on how to control the very magic that now felt like a wild force within me. A surge of hope filled my heart. This book might be the key to mastering my gifts, to unlocking the secrets of my magic and understanding my past.
