Freedom to Meraki

Freedom to Meraki

Madelein Botes
The year is 2304 and war has ravaged the world, leaving scattered communities. Keira, a headstrong 25-year-old, has joined the Eagle tribe with the goal of making a difference. Their primary mission is to take back Meraki, a planet that was intended only for the wealthy and privileged. For the past 50 years, raiders seeking riches have taken over Meraki and severed all communication. The Eagle tribe, trained by old war heroes, has been selected to assess the situation and is actively searching for scattered pieces of a space shuttle that was used to travel to Meraki. Keira is one of the few women who joined the force, as most women help out with daily necessities. She has no interest in marriage, but she can't help but react whenever Josh is nearby. Josh, newly appointed as second in command, has a string of women eagerly throwing hints of marriage, and he would stop at nothing to make them sway. His piercing green eyes, sun-kissed blonde hair, dashing dimples, and ripped physique due to excessive training would contribute to the madness. As fate would have it, she found herself crossing paths with Caleb - a master of manipulation with a dashing demeanor. Despite his apparent immunity to emotion, he exuded a commanding presence that was both cold and alluring. There was something dark and mysterious about him that drew her in, and she couldn't help but feel like he had a way of penetrating her guarded thoughts. Meraki is a place for dreams, a meaning to a better future, or maybe where dreams are now scattered by the selfish traits of men for self-gain.

No Fated To Follow, I Choose Myself

No Fated To Follow, I Choose Myself

A month before our medical fellowship was over, my fated mate, Julian, secretly filed to transfer packs to the High Council. I overheard his friend trying to talk him out of it. "You're ditching your home pack for Crimson Peak, all for Elodie? You did it behind Vesper's back? She's dead set on going home to Silver Crest. She even landed the Chief Healer position. You think she'll just agree? Didn't you two leave the pack for the Neutral Territory just so you could one day go back and serve?" Julian just chuckled, loosening his tie. His voice was laced with the arrogant confidence of a man who thought he owned my soul. "Vesper's my fated mate. We're already bonded. She'll follow me to Crimson Peak, no questions asked. Besides, Elodie's wolf is too fragile. She can't be without me." I stood outside, the mate mark on my neck stinging. I turned and walked away. If he could choose another she-wolf, I could choose myself. I would sever our bond and claim my title as Chief Healer. A month later, my plane landed. He called, his voice urgent. "Vesper, are you at the Crimson Peak territory yet?" I looked up at the gleaming towers and silver totems of the Silver Crest pack. A fierce pride surged through me. "I'm already home."

My Fiancé’s Childhood Sweetheart Just Stole My Wedding Cloak

My Fiancé’s Childhood Sweetheart Just Stole My Wedding Cloak

After leaving the ancient Vampire Academy, I spent a year hiding in the neutral zone with my mentor, an alchemist obsessed with sunlight resistance. No Senate laws. No secret family protection. My father is one of the Five Original Progenitors. Terrified I'd let some rogue sweet-talk me into a reckless blood pact, he forced a marriage on me. The groom? Julian Vance, Lord of the Crimson Clan in Nightfall City. I had no choice. I went to pick out a sunlight cloak fit for a Lord's wife. A cloak immediately caught my eye—woven with gold thread and night-spider silk, glowing in the dim light. Just as my fingers brushed the fabric, a gratingly sweet voice cut in. "I want that one. Wrap it up." Before I could look up, the manager snatched the display box right out from under my nose. I stood up slowly. "Ever heard of first come, first served?" I asked coldly. "Put it back." The female vampire turned around, looking me up and down with pure disgust. "This cloak is half a million dollars. Can you even afford it, you potion-stinking half-breed?" She smirked. "Julian Vance and I grew up together. We are blood-bonded. In Nightfall City, my word is law." Her almighty Julian was my fiancé. We hadn't even met yet. I pulled out my phone and dialed his number. "Good evening, Julian. Your pretty little childhood sweetheart just stole my cloak for our bonding ceremony. Tell me, how should we settle this?"

As I check, I see this is a new writer and it seems like it’s first book unless it’s on a different app. But as I read the intro, I noticed not grammar mistakes and the beginning is well explain so I’ll give it a try and see how good this author could be. As of now I will rate a 5 starts.

Alpha Damien’s Regret.

Alpha Damien’s Regret.

Julia fights against the world, gives up everything she has, and endures humiliation just to be with Alpha Damien when he was at his lowest where everyone abandoned him. But after everything she did for him when he healed, he cruelly rejected her and dethroned her from her rightful position, because she was a weak omega and he replaced her with someone stronger, Beta Aurora. Julia was in pain and had to return home after the hurt. Upon getting home, her father was no more and all she had was the fragments of his memories. Her deceased father, Mr Wade left a box to be given to Julia. And when Julia was given the box from her mother, she opened it and saw a powerful silver necklace and a piece of paper that contained everything about the past she never knew about herself. She was from the Dark Knight pack. It happened that the Dark Knight pack ceased to exist after it was destroyed and the land was taken by the Blood moon pack headed by Alpha Damien's ancestors. All the other pack members that survived the attacks lived in the shadows. Julia's deceased father also revealed that she wasn't an Omega. And she should find that out. Puzzled, she went on a journey of discovery wearing the silver necklace and upon going to the last moon celebration. The moon focused on her and she passed out. After Julian had left, Alpha Demian realized he had fallen in love with her. All the traits that he saw on her couldn't be found in Beta Aurora and now he would do just anything to get her back.

Seven Years Broken

Seven Years Broken

At our seventh wedding anniversary dinner, I noticed something strange. My best friend, Darren Blackburn, who had always been single, had suddenly changed his profile picture to a couple’s photo. "So you’ve been hiding a girlfriend from me?" I joked with a grin. "When are you bringing her around? I should at least meet her and make sure she’s good enough for you." He just smiled and shook his head, brushing it off. "Not yet," he said. "It’s not the right time." Then Deanna Cunningham, my wife’s voice called out from the kitchen, "Babe, come help me tie my apron." I hadn’t even pushed my chair back yet when Darren was already on his feet, jogging over. He stepped behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and tied the apron strings for her. I froze where I stood. Seeing the look on my face, he quickly tried to explain, "I’m just used to helping out at home. My mom’s always bossing me around. It’s basically muscle memory. Don’t read into it." I didn’t argue or make a scene. I kept my expression neutral and carried on with the dinner as if nothing had happened. Only after all the guests had left did I turn to Deanna, who was clearing the table, and say calmly, "Let’s get a divorce." She slammed the dishes down with a loud crash and glared at me. "Seriously? Over something like that? Just because he tied my apron once?"
