I said, and the dragon promptly lay down on the bed, then gave me a kiss and closed his eyes quickly. I smiled and went to the shower, then had a vision about a tiny snake biting my toe. The sensation of the bite was so vivid that I screamed, and immediately Drago came over. “What's wrong?” asked the dragon in alarm. “I had a vision with a small snake biting me; just go back to bed; I'll go eat,” I said, and Drago nodded. When I came out, Biel was coming with a tray, but I took it for us to eat upstairs.

That's the fastest she's been in a long long time. My eyes narrow and she looks away,dumping the pill bottle into her dress pocket. “You're back from the forest.” I shift on my feet,eyeing my mama “Yeah,I woke up earlier than usual.” I couldn't sleep. “You were thinking about the Arkael boy.” My dragon purrs sleepily. I exhausted us both today,thoroughly. When I bristle,it only chuckles and goes to sleep. “Is this what you do when I'm out in the morning? Pop pills that make you so high,you don't even know what is happening in the house you're the lady of.”

Raisel watched as his chest heaved as he deeply slept. One of his hands was behind his head. His hair was overgrown and a few locks were drooping just over his eyes. She carefully pushed it backwards. It fell forward, she moved it again. This continued for a while. He stirred in his sleep but he did not wake up. She loved watching him sleep but they had a long journey ahead of them and they needed to leave immediately. She pushed him slightly then shouted into his ears, “How do we find a dragon?”

I nip at his earlobe, gently tugging the silver-coloured hoop he wears, and he mumbles something sleepy and nonsensical. They say you should never tickle a sleeping dragon, but they don’t mention sleeping wolves. I trail my fingers across the bare skin of his torso, over the patch on his ribs that I know will make him twitch. With my thumb I trace an arc around the inside of his elbow, and the tickling quiver it elicits from him sends an extra pulse of arousal through me. Aiden cracks one eyelid open. I dip my head and softly kiss the other one. “Good morning, sleepywolf.” “Did you get started without me?” he mumbles, pausing in his movements.

“So we just broke into the dragon equivalent of someone’s bedroom while they’re trying to hit snooze.” I sighed. “Honestly? That’s a pretty good way to describe it.” Rain groaned. “God, we’re all going to die because some dragon woke up on the wrong side of the—wait, do dragons even have beds?” Jesse gave him a flat look. “Oh my god, Rain—” “I mean, seriously, do they sleep on piles of gold? Or, like, is there a dragon mattress company? ‘Cause you’d think—” Lia slapped a hand over his mouth. “I swear, if you get us killed over dragon sleep habits, I will personally haunt you from the afterlife.”

~ RAMON ~ The scent was strong and offensive. It was sufficient to rouse me from my beautiful slumber. My inner dragon growled, a warning to me that I would not return to the slumber if the source of the stench was not dealt with. My eyes were drawn to the sleeping beauty that lay beside me. Spurred by nothing but great admiration, my fingers danced on her delicate face, her soft snores of content a delight to my soul and a temporary satiation to my inner dragon.

I’m pretty sure that whoever said it takes a village to raise a family was a dragon, because if I didn’t have the help of nearly every dragon at the academy, I don’t think I’d ever be able to sleep. I can hear my little darlings screeching before I can see them. The four deer I have in my talons will only quiet them for a moment. By the time I’ve fed every one of them, the first ones will be screaming for more food again. And by screaming, I mean screeching. It’s an ear-piercing sound that makes my head throb.

I wake up practically on Taran again. The covers are off the bed. Taran’s body is radiating heat. Maybe dragons are made from fire? I should ask about what is and isn’t true when it comes to dragons. Taran stirs as I pull away. His arm is around me with his hand resting on my hip. I feel his grip tighten, and his chest vibrates as he lets out a low growl, warning me not to move. His grip immediately loosens, and he stops growling when I relax back into him.

Tora yelled back as she came out of the bedroom with no shirt on. “Whoa. First off you need to put a shirt on otherwise you won’t be leaving this apartment for a while and I’ll miss patrol duty.” I said looking her up and down. It was getting harder and harder to hold back my lycan. He wanted to complete the mating process weeks ago. Tora just stuck her tongue out at me and then pulled a t-shirt over her head. “What’s the second thing then?” She asked. “Do dragons go into a heat type thing like wolves do?” I asked.

She jerked the sheet up over her bare breasts as Drago walked into the room. “My little mate,” he purred as he climbed back in the bed with her, “Why are you covering yourself when I have already seen your beauty?” His onyx hair fell in a wild mess about his shoulders, as he pulled her into his strong arms. “Dragons aren’t shy, my love,” he chuckled, “In fact, we love it when our mates walk around naked.” Madchen palmed her forehead, her cheeks flushing feverishly. Her hair was a mess, and she hadn’t brushed her teeth, in fact she was barely awake, naked as the day she was born, and she felt vulnerable and exposed.
