She didn’t recognize her, but there was something about her presence that felt off. The maid was too still, too quiet. Aurora took the tray, glancing down at the tea. It looked normal nothing out of the ordinary but the warmth of the cup against her fingers felt unsettling.

“So,” I said, turning to the two women. “Would you like to take a walk in the garden with me?” “Oh, I would love to!” Nara said enthusiastically, turning to Aurora, who did not share the same enthusiasm. “I’ll have to decline this time,” Aurora answered with a respectful nod. “I need to take care of some matters in the pack’s treasury.” The treasurer?
