I was laying down on my bed, checking my phone when I heard my mom call me from downstairs. "Yeah mom?" I asked not moving from the bed. "There are new neighbours in our neighbourhood. Come on down, I want you to meet this guy. He says, he goes to the same school as you. He is is your age too. Just come down, I think you'll love to meet him." I rolled my eyes. New neighbor? Same school? Who else could it be? Damien puts a check to both of them.

Her eyes turned wide, seeing my face, and she looked away. “You didn’t tell me this house had neighbors.” “W-well, Mister Aiden, this is the only house that fits all your needs from two garages to more rooms and security. I’m sure you can overlook neighbors living in such a cozy home. And those are the Millers, I can introduce to them when we—”

And then, as if suddenly recalling himself, he spoke, his deep voice rumbling through the air. "Hello, my name is Gage. I'm your new neighbor." Nicole's gaze snapped back to his face, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she realized she'd been staring. "Oh, yes, hello," she stuttered, trying to compose herself. Gage's eyes sparkled with amusement as he nodded at her. "Our landlord said you might have something for me?"

It was midnight. I was sound asleep when loud, aggressive pounding on my front door rudely woke me. Groggy and annoyed, I barely cracked the door open before a bucket of foul-smelling water splashed all over me. The icy shock jolted me awake. The stench made me gag before I looked up in fury. Standing in front of me were my neighbors from across the hall.

Restless and unfulfilled, I grabbed my smokes and a lighter and headed out to the stairwell for a puff. Just as my hand touched the door to the stairwell, I heard a faint, frantic moaning. At first, I thought it was just a cat in heat. Then, a familiar scent hit me. It was a perfume that immediately made me think of my charming neighbor from next door, Demi Wilson. Every time I ran into her, that sweet, intoxicating scent always arrived first. Then came the flash of a red slip dress or perhaps a bodycon dress, with a neckline plunging incredibly low.

She sighs when the key is finally brought to light. The roaring engine of a big truck that comes to a stop in front of the house next to Anna’s, draws her attention and as the body read ‘we make moving easier’, she knew someone was moving in next-door. It’s been six full months since she moved into this neighbor-hood and she still wasn’t fully familiar with the residents around. Most of the contacts she made, had been with teenagers and middle-aged moms.

she said quietly. “I’m asking you to survive,” Caeldrin said. She stopped. That word—survive—echoed too loudly. “What happens if I say no?” she asked. His jaw tightened. “Then I find another solution.” She turned back to him. “And what happens to me?” For the first time since he arrived, Caeldrin hesitated. “Nothing,” he said carefully. “Unless my family notices you.” Her stomach dropped. “Notices me how?” “They’re already aware I have a new neighbor,” he admitted. “They don’t like unknown variables.”

I murmur, more to myself than anyone. Ryan continues, oblivious to my internal struggle. “Oh, here’s the catch—it's right next door to your penthouse, Lincoln. You remember Mrs. Newman, your ancient and unneighborly neighbor? Well she finally moved to Naples, and her son inherited the penthouse. Hold on, I just got an update on the status.” We all fall into an awkward silence for a beat as we wait for Ryan to return. My stomach churns with a mix of excitement and unease. This could work out perfectly, or it could complicate things in ways I hadn’t yet considered.

I muttered. “What way?” Natasha asked curiously. “The landlord would have information about his tenants. I can just buy the house and become the landlord,” I suggested. Natasha went to work immediately. She was able to find details about Kelvin’s house on the real estate market but… “The house got a new owner three days ago,” Natasha announced. “Three days? That’s when Kelvin’s neighbor moved in,” I replied, instantly interested. “Can you find the name of the new owner?” “I can but…” Natasha hesitated. “The new owner is Michael Reynolds.”

We just started our relationship, and she just isn’t ready to say yes yet. “Seymore?” Ava asks. “Sophia just called and said the movers need some help with the couch. Would you mind running back?” “No problem,” I reply, kissing her on the top of the head before walking out the door. I make it down to the elevator when Anne yells from the hall. “Seymore, is it moving day already?” she calls. “Yes, ma’am. Your new neighbors will be here by the end of the day. Ava’s in the condo if you want to stop in and say hi,” I reply as the doors slide open.
