“Ah, Blake! So nice to see you,” King Lazarus said as I walked into the room, and I immediately bent a knee, and bowed to him, and put my hand over my heart.
“Your majesty, thank you for seeing me on such short notice,” I said.
“Stand up my boy,” the king said. “I have heard through your right hand that this variant of flu is quite the bother.”
I stood up and gave him a nod. “Tragically, we’ve lost a rather large group of our elders. Some of the disabled and chronically ill have also passed, as well as a few children. This isn’t like the normal flu we usually see around fall.”
