He and Carlos were already positioned near the champagne tower, their post like two watchmen with entirely different intentions. Nico wore his smile like armor, mischief cutting sharper than any blade. Carlos was calmer, his grin disarming, softer, but no less dangerous.
“Late, as usual,” Nico continued, the glass in his hand catching the chandelier light. His gaze slid over Dante like smoke, then landed squarely on me. And stayed. “But worth the wait.”
