~Aliyana Pov~ The fortress never slept, but tonight it was restless, shadows stretched farther, footsteps echoed louder, and the walls themselves felt like they were waiting for something to happen. And it did. The sound of a roar split the air, deep and terrifying. It wasn’t just any roar, it was Nolan’s. My stomach twisted as my chest tightened with dread. “She’s gone!” I heard his voice bellow, shaking through the walls. The floors beneath my feet vibrated from the force of his rage.

He kept trying to rock himself and he finally got to his knees. He threw himself backwards onto the floor and he felt the chair crack. A few more hours and he'd finally broken it enough to get his hands loose. He pushed himself on to his side and got on to his knees. He scooted himself over to a counter and awkwardly pushed himself into a doubled over position. Knocking the phone off with his chin, he sat back on the floor and felt for the numbers. He dialed 911. He gave them all the information they asked for and just sat there, feeling defeated.

Emily lay on her bed and closes her eyes, she listens to the chirping sounds of the birds outside her apartment. Three am in the morning, the door to her room creaks. Emily jolts up from her tiny bed, she looks around, nothing. She secure her robe tightly in front of her waist when she drops her cold feet on the floor. The floor creaks under her weight, Emily search for her phone and turns on the flashlight. She moves around her small apartment checking if someone wants to break in. When she was done with her investigation, she went back to bed. The whooping sounds of the wind pushes her window open. The air in Emily's room becomes still.

He jumped down to a sloppy part of the forest before the missile could reach him. He lost his balance and rolled down the slope. He grabbed a tree to stop himself from falling any further. He clenched his jaw as he stood up from where he had fallen. "Fuck you, Steve Davis. You want a damn war. I'll give you war." As his connection with Wulfric was lost, he angrily removed his earpiece. That had been broken when he had fallen. He would have been toasted if he didn’t see it coming!

There were only a couple of other kids that chose to read over the computers. I browsed the bookshelf searching for a book to read, my step-father set fire to all my books in the wheel barrow when he first moved in with us. I picked a book up from the shelf, my father had bought me it before he died, I was surprised to see it in a school library. The Darkest Minds. After standing up again, I began to feel dizzy as everything spun. The sound of a familiar voice suddenly echoed behind me, one I had not expected to hear. "We have searched everywhere for you, and now that you have finally appeared, it is time for you to go home, nighty night, Alassandra!" I saw Ikaris and Argos running towards me as I fell to the ground. There was a look of shock and fear on their faces at the same time. It was obvious that they were yelling, but I was so exhausted that I could not make out the words they were saying. As everything started to turn black, I heard the sound of the wind. The last thing I saw was Moriah's sinister face as I was lifted off the ground.
