Liam POV I ended up missing my flight from Chicago to Seattle, but the delay allowed me to dodge my mate a few days, so I was happy about that. If I could just get that sexy nympho out of my head I would be on cloud fucking nine. "Alpha you have several pack members waiting to speak to you. Will you be seeing anyone today?" My delta asked me. He remained at my doorway, standing a good twenty feet from me with his hands wound tightly behind his back. He knew of my strength as well as my unstable mood since returning, he was quivering in fear.

Josh answers. “Oh, OK, yeah, that makes sense. Is Nick out there?” I ask nervously, and Josh groans. “Yeah, the bastard is out there; he is lucky he is my future Alpha because I wanted to kick his ass some more and kick him out of the hospital.” Josh snaps, making me chuckle, and he glares at me. I lift my hands up in surrender.

I recognised the one with yellow eyes from earlier as Ashina and the other had a neon green eye colour, which was the mark of the Delta, Lowell. They reach us and immediately bow their heads, I turn to see Volk’s eyes are a blood red. They were bowing to their Alpha.

“Thank you, Delta. Yes, I’d like to see what she can do first hand, especially after seeing her skills this morning.” Delta Greg nods, and Dad chimes in, “And I’d like to see how she holds up against Nicholas as well. If she’s as good as you all say, she’s a contender for the Elite task force, and we’ll want to keep an eye on her. She’s not on our radar yet since she doesn’t attend the summer training camps.” I catch the spark of excitement on Nicholas’s face at the idea of sparring with his niece. “Well, Your Highness,” Greg says, gesturing toward the far end of the field, “if you’d head over to Group One…”

he extends his hand to Jeremy first. I roll my eyes. “Jeremy Light,” Jeremy shakes Nickolas’s hand. Nickolas offers his hand to Jack. “Jack Solan,” Jack’s voice is deep and gruff. “You want to challenge the Delta?” Nickolas asks still shaking Jack’s hand. “Yes Alpha,” Jack answers. “Do you want to wait until you know if he is going to recover?” Nickolas asks. “If?” Ryan’s mom whimpers. Nickolas softens. “Ma’am I am very sorry,” Nickolas’s voice is tender. What a good Alpha.

"I don't care. Get it done." The crashing down of bricks meters away from us earns everyone's attention. There are about thirteen Deltas behind Mrs. Dominion and another four Alphas, making the little space even smaller. Nikolai has an Alpha in his grip, neck wrangling, bones broken as he smirks when his eyes find Marcellan. When it shifts to me, I could almost swear I catch a pitiful look there before it vanishes, but I'd be stupid to think that was true.

They're all going in one direction and I'm thankful enough that they don't notice me. A joyous atmosphere is present in the air and everyone is talking amongst each other and after a while of lingering in the kitchen, I hear an announcement. “The Alpha is now greeting the elders, the Gamma and the Delta are back, everyone go in the ballroom.” somebody announces. For a moment, I freeze on the spot! Delta? Did I hear that right? My heart starts pounding hard against my chest. William has a Delta and he never found any need to tell me? Deltas are a replacement of an Alpha's mate as long as he hasn't found her and she hasn't found hers.

He didn’t like that Nikka was here with Alpha Kairo. “What?” Nikka’s smiling face warped into a frown as her forehead creased. “I’m not here with Kairo. We are here with Kairo! There’s a difference! I’m not alone with him!” She hissed, rolling her eyes as her arms crossed against her chest. As if in a queue, the car doors opened after she spoke, and Alpha Kairo stepped out from the driver’s seat while Cassidy came out from the passenger side.
