My wolf, curled up in the depths of my consciousness, was trembling and whimpering softly. I forced myself to calm down. Suppressing the surge of emotion, I quickly checked the pod. The air inside was already thin and bitterly cold. One corner of the pod had collapsed, and the steel plating had snapped into jagged hooks that could fall at any moment. But there was still hope. I clenched my teeth and crawled toward the storage compartment. Although my hand was cut open as a result, I hurriedly began rummaging through the remaining supplies.

Two of Noah’s guys stepped out. Jenny skidded to a halt, her pulse roaring in her ears. Ethan positioned himself in front of her. “Get returned.” The large of the two guys, a bald guy with a scar throughout his cheek, smirked. “Mr. Hernandez desires you domestic, Jenny.” Ethan’s fists clenched. “She isn't going with you.” The second guy laughed. “You do not have a desire.” Jenny’s heart pounded. She was in this role earlier than trapped, powerless. But no longer this time.

Fragrant orange petals floated softly down through the air. “They’ll be down in just a minute,” the nanny told them nervously. But Lorenzo and Phoebe glanced at each other and smiled. They didn’t need any explanation.

In a choked voice, he said, "I'll leave on my own." As I watched him turn away in dejection, I suddenly called out, "Wait." His steps halted. A flicker of hope appeared in his eyes, only for him to hear me say, "I almost forgot about something. The final payment for Star Tower is almost due. Remember to pay what's owed, as per the purchase agreement." Bryan stiffened. "What was that?" Snorting, I asked, "What's the matter? You forgot all about the contract you signed two days ago? The one where you made it clear you were buying Star Tower for me?"

But what scares me are the five wolves that fall in behind Dan. Shifting in front of me, is my mate. I saw a pair of shorts tossed towards him, as he put them on, slowly staring at Dan. “Seems there was a party I was not invited to,” Zack said softly. Before I could speak, Dan said, “I am picking up what is mine.”. Zack stared at him before glancing back at me. I could see that he believed Dan, and before I could say anything, Zack pivoted quickly, grabbing Dan by the neck and wrapping his fingers around his throat. “Funny thing, last I checked she is my fated mate. I think you are mistaken on what belongs to you,” Zack said as his claws continued to prick into Dan’s throat.

He paused, staring ahead with no particular focus, his voice laced with something sinister when he continued, "You will be going to the bush farm tomorrow; there is unfinished business I left waiting there." There has always been an unspoken rule between Dimitri and Jose that whenever a task is being passed down from the former to the latter, there is no chance of negotiation or mercy. Jose was another form of ruthless and merciless, but comparing him to Dimitri will be an understatement. Dimitri was worse.

The man in front of me was Freddie Fleming, the victim's eldest brother. In my last life, he had led the charge and shoved me to the ground. He didn't listen when I tried to explain, and it was his blade that struck the first fatal wound. Freddie pulled up the transfer record on his phone. "Look for yourself. The account that got the funeral expenses is under the name 'Lydia'. Are you still gonna deny it?" He turned to Charles and said, "Don't be fooled by her. Listen to what she said!"

It was a photo of him in his hospital bed, holding the tiramisu. The caption read: “Thanks, Annie. This is the best comfort dessert ever.” Underneath it, Annie had left a smiley face. I shoved my phone into my pocket, heart hollow. It had been ninety-nine times or maybe more than that. However, whatever the number was, it was time to let go.

After she left, Nine opened his eyes and sat up. His eyebrows were furrowed together. ‘I thought that girl was innocent and pure, but I didn’t expect this not to be that b*tch’s first time!’ Nine, the future head of the Tuffin family, was picking up someone else’s used toy. Furthermore, he even had to become her partner in a grand banquet. At that moment, Nine felt a fire burning inside him. However, this was not the time to have a fallout with her. ‘Just you wait, you b*tch!’

Number 3 had only red stars. Number 3 had five stars in her star map, and all of them were red. Three of these stars were filled, whereas the other two were empty. At first Mane reckoned that the stars had to do with a person’s talent. But the twins were just as talented as him, however they had only seven stars in their star maps unlike Mane who had nine. And Dan had fourteen, which just didn’t seem to make sense since Dan’s talent was currently in decline and was comparable to Mane and the twins’. So right now Mane didn’t know what to think. There was one thing he was absolutely certain of though.
