You own half of New York. I saw the article about you on Forbes. Those Eco-Friendly apartments that your building are going to be the way of the future.”

His chatter was exhausting, but thanks to him, Eugene had learned a lot about this place. Doni had another nickname: Brain. Those who knew him usually called him by that nickname. When Eugene first heard the nickname "Brain," he thought Doni must be very intelligent despite his appearance, but that wasn't the case. My fingers tighten, squeezing the life out of him as I spit, “Where the fuck is Cara, Donatello?” His eyes widen, gasping for air. “Who is Cara, boss?” he wheezes, like he’s playing dumb.

Not the Tommy we knew, the one who could scale a tree faster than a squirrel, the one who could make us laugh until our sides ached. “I saw him smile the other night,” Donny said, breaking the quiet. His voice was low, like he didn’t want to scare the memory away. “Just for a second. I was telling him about the raccoon that stole my dinner out back.” A laugh tried to escape my chest. It didn’t quite make it. It caught in my throat, a painful lump of fear and relief. “You serious?” Donny nodded. A ghost of a smile played on his lips. “Dead serious. Little bastard took the whole burger. Didn’t even drop the bun.”

Jion bobbed his head to the side as a signal for Henrick to proceed. “That time, when you helped me to save Irvin from Ken. His younger brother, Donnnie, is also there. But I fail to get him back with me.” Jion just quietly listening to him. “And when the shooting was over, the people who were left behind mentioned that you brought all the bodies that were left behind. by any chance, is Donnie one of those…you know?” He wanted to say ‘body’ but it sounded inappropriate for him to use that word. Jion was quiet for a minute. Thinking deeply of his question. “Do you realize that it’s been a while since that kidnapping has happened? We don’t ket dead body that long.”

A few days pass after the Donnie incident at school. I don’t remember what happened, but I’m amazed that I stood up to him and fought back. The doctor told me everything that I had done. I was forced to write an apology letter to the school, Donnie and his parents. That wasn’t fun in the slightest. I sit at my desk in my room and open up my notebook. For some reason I’ve been drawing strange sketches recently of a strange creature. I don’t know what it is I’ve just drawn them. They’re quite disturbing. Especially that in my mind the creature murders children and takes their souls. It’s a bit dark…
