Eden asked, reaching for his phone and made a call. “Did you find anything?” Noel read his lips. “Really? Sure? Nothing at all? Ok. Thanks.” Keeping the call, Eden stared at the screen, typing away before dropping the phone on the bed, horror written all over his face. “There is nothing about this man.” He said, voice barely above a whisper. “It’s like he never existed.” Noel didn’t say a word as he sat there blankly, mentally preparing to be kicked out of the room and house while having to take up a new identity, again.

Don’t—” The line died. Completely silent. No goodbye. No warning. Just gone. My hands trembled around the phone. “He… he ended the call.” We tried calling back, but the number didn’t exist. No ID. No trace. A ghost call.
