I Left You in the Past
During the months after I left, I had long since gotten used to life without Adrian.
I had carried this suitcase up and down on my own the whole time. I truly did not need anyone's help.
Adrian waited downstairs alone.
Before going out, I specially told my parents, "I'll be back soon and eat dinner with you."
When I went downstairs and walked outside, Adrian followed silently behind me.
Our small town didn't even have an airport, so naturally there were no upscale cafes either.
We found a small nearby park with few people.
I found a quiet corner and turned to look at him.
