Destiny
“We're almost there. — I had completely lost more than four hours of
sunny landscape. Lakes, rivers, farms – however panoramic the scenery, the view
inside had been much nicer.
The train crossed the Don River, and I turned back to it, nervous again.
Across the aisle, a petite woman struggled to get her purse from the luggage rack.
My companion, with his lean, strong frame, got up and pulled it out for her. She smiled and thanked him.
“Kat? Do you have luggage to take from up here?
"Yes, please," I told him. — A black suitcase on wheels, with a pink scarf
tied.
- I thought. ’ He lifted it easily, then grabbed his bags as the train pulled into the lane.
