Rosie says, tapping a finger to my chest, “…but your heart seems to be saying another.”
I stare straight ahead — because looking at her would be admitting everything.
She sighs wistfully. “Not everyone has the opportunity to find love, or a rich billionaire husband who loves you enough to get a group of bodyguards for you. So I would say enjoy it while it lasts. But now…”
She claps once, firm.
“Let’s go hit up some ice cream flavors while you brainstorm your next book.”
With that decisive tone only Rosie can wield, she pushes the car door open and steps out.
