Eventually, the noises outside the door began to die down. It was only then that I opened the bathroom door and went out. All four of them—Gary, Drake, Lesley, and Willow—were sprawled out on the table haphazardly as they muttered nonsense under their breaths. I lowered my head to check on the time on my watch. The drug was going to make them go all crazy in just half an hour's time. Lesley kept chuckling like an idiot, muttering under her breath that she was going to make me give birth to a child for her and other nonsense. Meanwhile, Gary kept repeating that the child I bore them was going to be their cash cow very soon.

The photo beneath it showed the snowy scenery of Bhador and Mason wrapping a scarf around Eira. My chest felt like it had been stabbed right through. Even though I had decided to walk away from this relationship, I still could not stop the pain, nor the tears that slipped out on their own. Then, something on her hand caught my eye: the moonstone ring. It was the token of the Blacknight Pack's Luna. Mason's mother had pressed it into my hand before she passed away. Then came the follow-up message from his assistant. “Luna Mia’s flight was the one that crashed…” Lucien staggered back a step before collapsing to the floor, the phone slipping from his grip. He could not believe that I, who was fine just that morning, was gone now?

“What is this?” “That’s what killed him,” he said, his voice trembled. “H-He said if I got into trouble, I just have to…to go there.” The detective flipped the card and saw two words engrossed on it in gold ink. DOMUS MALUM His eyebrows furrowed, frustration creeping in. His head began to throb as he looked away. “Thanks for this, Mate,” he said and hopped on his car, never casting a glance again on the guy.

In less than five minutes, years of my life in Haryndale were laid out on the secretary's tablet. After reading it, Grandpa's expression darkened. "Make the call. It's time for Justice Corp to go under."
