Serious fire, I couldn't even see anything except the fire. Panic and worry took over. I ran to where the door was admist the fire but it wouldn't open, wouldn't budge. My skin was starting to burn and someone was screaming maniacally.

It was now or never and the only way to find out. "I love you too," I closed my eyes and waited for the burn searing in my tattoo. There, a slight burn, quite faint but it ended all too quickly, seared on my left chest. Was that a bad sign or a good sign? I casted my eyes downward to my left chest, to where my tattoo was. I checked surreptitiously to see if it glowed and thankfully, my button up shirt was three buttons undone so my chest was still visible. I frowned when it flickered weakly, like a busted light bulb. Was that supposed to happen? Was that supposed to glow like that? Did the curse break that confession?

Before I could realize what he was doing, the fire engulfed him completely in the blink of an eye. He collapsed to the floor. Perhaps the pain was too much. He curled up in a fetal position. He murmured softly, “Samantha, did it hurt when you lost the baby? Did it hurt when you died? I remember you were always afraid of pain. I’m sorry, Samantha. I’m coming to see you now.” His voice faded gradually and dissolved into the wind until it was no longer heard. At 6 a.m., the sun rose. The flames disappeared.
