I slept with my lover’s father. There was no simpler way to put it and I don’t know, could we call that incest? I believe incest was sex between family members. They became family. And if I’ve learned anything while writing this story, it’s that family isn’t always blood. Sometimes, family is the people who choose you. The people who stay. The people who fight for you when you can’t fight for yourself. The people who love you through your worst moments and still look at you like you are worth saving. This story was about werewolves, prophecies, fire, magic, and war. But more than that, it was about family. It was about finding strength through pain.

Naina looked at everyone and she could hear the cogs turning in their brains. “So you are saying you don’t see anything odd in it”? Conrad couldn’t help but ask. “Odd?
