Aunt Mila gasped softly, but Justin didn’t look away from me. “You feel it too,” he said quietly. “The pull. The way your heartbeat changes when I’m near.” I opened my mouth no sound came out. Because he was right. A warmth spread through my chest whenever he got too close, like my body recognized something my mind didn’t. “I won’t lose you,” Justin whispered.

“And what does it make you?” His thumb traced lightly along her jaw. “It makes me dangerous.” The words weren’t whispered in arrogance. They were spoken in promise. A part of me felt embarrassed from the thought, but another part felt a dangerous kind of excitement at the idea that he might have heard me begging for him. In the kitchen I pointed up at the high shelf where the fancy kettle was placed. Jake reached up easily. His shirt rode up a little and showed a bit of skin at his waist. I had to look away quickly before my thoughts ran away again. When he handed me the kettle our fingers brushed. That small touch sent another rush of heat through my body.

Anna's POV My chest heaves as I push the door of the hotel room and stride in. Being the mafia princess has it's good days and it's bad days, but today is an especially bad day, an enemy of my father's had attacked unexpectedly, making me run to this hotel with another enemy. “So many enemies” I huff as I peel the leather jacket off my burning hot body. In a rush, I go to stand in front of the air conditioner to cool myself, even though I know that the it cannot help the hotness I feel.
