Ashleigh shifted away from her aunt, a sense of betrayal washing over her. "Miss Hartman, I am Mr. Cagliari's lawyer and legal representative. I have the marriage contract here," the man who had been observing silently finally spoke. He reached into the envelope and placed a document in front of her. Ashleigh sat silently, her eyes fixed on the bold letters at the top: MARRIAGE AGREEMENT CONTRACT. "Ashleigh, I know this is a lot to take in," Adrian added, his gaze steady on her still figure. "I want you to think carefully. During the time you are my legal wife, you and your aunt will be fully taken care of. Consider it a favor." Ashleigh finally raised her head to look directly at him, a spa

The man leaned back on his chair and put a file before her. "Read it." It was a Contract marriage agreement. The dude was really serious about the wife part. But she wasn't that crazy yet. They show in movies, contract marriage then bam, fall in love, bam villains enter, then there is a separation and sometimes a kid, then a happy ending. That was it all because it was movies. And in real life, no way there could be a happy ending. She felt it would be foolish to waste time reading this agreement when she could try getting a job and getting paid for sure.

I muttered under my breath. “Excuse me.” “Nothing.” I said getting up to leave his office. “One more thing,” he announced, and I turned to hear what he had to say. “You're not allowed to fall in love with me, it's part of the contract, once you do, the contract will be terminated and you'll receive no benefits, except, of course, if the child is born.” “I assure you, that wouldn’t happen.” I responded and left his office. I'm not allowed to fall in love with him? Like anyone would want to fall for a nonchalant ass like him. This contract should be as easy as a pie, right?

I replied, feeling a bit awkward. He ordered a bottle of wine, and we toasted our new partnership. As we ate our dinner, Alex explained the terms of the contract. We would be married for one year, and I would receive a large sum of money, as well as other benefits such as a new apartment and a personal assistant. We would act like a real couple in public, but in private, we could do whatever we wanted. I listened to him, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension. I asked him some questions about the contract, and he answered them all, making it sound like a great deal. But I couldn't help but wonder what the catch was.

Christopher disagreed. Benjamin hissed. “You don’t have to fall in love with the woman. It is a simple and easy contract marriage. You set the rules and the woman acts according to your rules. You can call off the marriage anytime. But if you can’t do this, then I don’t know how you can claim your possession.” Christopher tried to think of the possibility of finding a woman that would act as his fake bride and even agree to his rules. Will any woman ever agree to sign such a contract? He was confused about this new plan.

“I can’t believe I spent six years with you! I thought you knew we were never taking this forward! It was never about marriage you fool, I was only using you for your notes because you’re the top student!” W..what? I stopped in my tracks, my heart dropped. “You don’t mean that Aria tell me.. tell me you don’t mean that” “I’m sorry I really needed to boost my grade and you were hard to approach so I had to do it the long way… don’t worry I won’t lie the sex was good.” Am I hearing wrong, the love of my life just told me I mean nothing to her except her golden ticket to success. What is home, I ask myself? Is it not a person, a heartbeat, a sweet- no a terrible, disgusting person named Aria?

I read aloud, running my eyes over the main headline of the story. Amid our photos, not only of the few weddings there are of our wedding, but also of distant photos taken of us on the island, is detailed absolutely everything. The magazine comments on how my marriage was based on a contract, how it was something devised by my grandfather and Dominik's grandfather, how we both have to fulfill certain requirements in order not to break the contract, and how we both had a complicated start. "...But as if it were a love story, on their obligatory honeymoon trip, they both found love..."

I’M PRETTY sure that Keandrick would find a way of getting out of the mess that I brought. I think I am bad luck here because ever since I entered the picture, I brought a mess to him. Yeah, what luck. After the confirmation of that fucking real marriage certificate by Darwin, my mind was like wandering in another universe, still processing these unending weird happenings around me. While Keandrick on the other side, immediately called someone on the phone I assumed that he was going to file an annulment of this so-called marriage thing I’ll be thanking him for that but that will be after if we get successfully annulled.

My brows furrowed as I croaked my neck to the side staring at what was written on the paper as my eyes widen when I was finally able to read it. MARRIAGE CONTRACT Signed by the legal court of the St. Alamida Hell no!

she recoiled after at the moment of being stunned as she watched him replace her cold water with the warm one. "I have signed the marriage contract Aaron, not the contract for selling me to you." Kathy smoothly turned to him and added further, successfully choking everyone present there as they looked at these couples with an interest. "Cone - contract marriage" Ken coughed at the sudden revelation and focused his gaze on Kathy's angry puffy face. Everybody's mouths fell onto the floor, staggered by Kathy's words, yet what stunned them more was the scene unfurling before their eyes. They watched as Aaron rolled his eyes at everyone's response and even chuckled, clearly amused, looking at Kat
