Novel Sky Novels & Stories

Kole. "Sit here." Sky is still heating the water for Dr. Kole and washing one cup. If the cup could speak then he would say thank you Doctor I've been washed by the master after a long time of sitting here in the sink full of cockroaches and molds. "You can call me Kole, Sky." Kole once again smiled at him. "I'll call you doctor." Sky flatly responded. "Ok. Do you have bread? I haven't eaten yet." Well, bread is the only thing that keeps Sky alive. Sometimes, his mother brings him food or his cousin's. They only brought him food and quickly leave. They can't touch anything in the house or Sky won't allow them in again.

Not even the boyfriend. Especially not him. I stare at the hand wrapped around Sky’s wrist. The hand quickly lets go. Good. For some reason that makes my breathing easier. A little. Just a little. The notebook in front of me remains open. Pages filled. Dates. Times. Locations. Little details. All of them important. Sky likes sitting near windows. Sky always forgets his umbrella. Sky bites the inside of his cheek when stressed. Sky hates olives. Sky smiles when he’s embarrassed.

I said one word to describe it, “Beautiful.” Such a vast landscape with a breathtaking sight could only be seen in a bird’s-eye view. Then I realized that we were all on top of a mountain. “Guys.” Wilt was glancing upward. “You might want to check the sky.” We tilted our heads, and our jaws dropped when we found seven suns forming in a circle in the sky. “We are officially not in Kansas anymore.” When I said Kansas, I meant Earth. The others agreed while gawking at the alien sky.

“Stop moving.” “You stop moving,” I said. Elara wiped a tear from her eye. “They grow up so fast.” Marek turned to her. “Please do not encourage this.” I leaned in until the circle was inches from my face. Inside the light, something shifted. A change in color. A tilt of perspective. A glimpse of sky. Not Earth sky. Not winter sky. High Realm sky. The swirling blue gold mix, touched with floating frost dust. The kind of sky that breathed magic and shimmered like a living painting.

Skylar, who had softened for love, was already dead in that cold sea. "Install it." I stared into Luke's crazed eyes. "Night Owl was always meant to be a monster."

I got to the throne room, and I sighed, looking at Asher. “We have been waiting for you,” he said, walking towards me. “Sorry, I ran into a minor mishap,” I said. “Are you okay?” he asked, looking over my body. I chuckled. “I am fine,” I said. “Okay, let’s go,‘’ he said, calling Snow. Well, Snow is Sky’s daughter, I know. Very ironic. That damn hellhound has been getting freaky, and we all had no idea it was Zira who found out and told us. Now we have plenty of hellhounds, as Sky and his wife, as we call her, won’t stop having more puppies. But it is not a bad thing; they are all cute. Archie and Dean got one hellhound, and the rest are here, but Snow is my favourite, and I named her persona

Ryu smiled after a laugh. “Yes,” Luna agreed, “After all, he is Theon.” After we all mumbled our non-reluctant wishes, Luna finally let the lantern go, flying up to the cold, midnight sky we dragons were promised to soar. As we longed for that very day to come, all that we can do as of now is to appreciate this scene of colorful rectangular objects soaring up to the sky in our stead. Our soft smiles fabricated silence, as we all gaze up to the night sky, praying that whoever is living there may our best of intentions be heard.

'' I removed the woolen jacket I wore and hung it over him. I sat by his side and wound my arms around him ''Skyyy!....Sky!.... Where are you?...'' I heard my mom shout in a distance. I watched her emerge from within the darkness. '' Oh my God, Sky? Jesus Christ! Don't ever run off like that...'' She scolded, a flashlight in her hands. '' A found a new friend, Mom'' She gasped. *Flashback over*

His scent wrapped around me like comfort. Skye placed a hand over her heart and clapped playfully. “Awww, these are the moments I live for. You two are actually cute when you are not fighting.” Nova’s face turned slightly serious. “Speaking of that, about earlier when you walked in and saw us—” Skye immediately cut him off. “I do not know what you are talking about.” Nova tried again. “No, seriously, Skye. I just wanted to say—” “Nope,” she interrupted again, shaking her head with a straight face. “I have no idea what you are referring to.”

The doors open. Not with a scream like the cell. Not with resistance. Just a heavy, final shift of iron that echoes deeper than anything else I've heard in five years. Then blinding light. I stop. It hits all at once. Too bright. Too open. Too much. I raise a hand, squinting against it, but I don't look away. Not after five years of being prisoner in Skyless Keep. No windows, no sunshine. I refuse to allow myself to look away.
