I found Emma and we went to the library together, finding a thin man in an expensive suit waiting with a briefcase.
"Mr. Ashford, Ms. Ashford, thank you for seeing me," the lawyer said, opening his briefcase. "I'm James Mitchell, representing your late father's estate. There are additional conditions to the will that activate after the first month of cohabitation."
"What conditions?" Emma asked.
"You must attend weekly couples therapy sessions together," James said, sliding papers across the desk. "And you must demonstrate measurable progress in your relationship as determined by the therapist."
"Couples therapy?" I repeated. "We're not a couple."
