I couldn’t make out the building’s details or the faces of the people around me, just vague human shapes. Somewhere nearby, a timid girl started crying. “W-Where are we? I want to go home.” A guy with yellow-dyed hair shouted impatiently, “What the hell is this? Let me out!” Then a man and a woman stepped forward, looking calmer than the rest. They introduced themselves as veteran players—Elaine and Jethro—and kindly explained what was going on. We were inside an infinite horror game. Everyone here was already dead. If we could survive every scenario and collect the legendary 9,999 points, we’d be revived.

I replied, and the moment my text was sent, hers came in. “You’re supposed to lie, ace of spades guy. “I don’t lie, novel girl; and what do you mean ace of spades guy?” “It’s the same reason you call me Novell girl. You're like it's crawling with cards, tattoos, and an ace of spades. Suspicious, if you ask me “You accuse everyone of cult activity?” I chewed on the inside of my cheek to stop myself from smiling again “Oh, my people who message me unexpectedly.” “Smart policy.”

If anyone can help me reach Emma, it's her. I use my connections to find Natasha and arrange to meet her at her family's tavern, La Taverna d'Oro. The tavern is nestled in a quieter part of Rimini, with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. I arrive early, hoping to gather my thoughts, but the anxiety won't let me settle.

She closed her eyes briefly. 'You are playing a game, and games have rules' she reminded herself. She would not let how dangerously good Dominic Rourke looked make her forget that. 'He is just a tool in this game.' She told herself as she left the mall.

Eve said. She came to sit close to him, and she took his hand in hers. She smiled. "I really love your shirt." Elvin grinned. "Thanks. I was scared it wouldn't be your size." "So, the game we are playing, was it like the kind you and Lisa played?" Eve asked. Elvin slightly shook his head. "No. Yours is more complex. More arranged. Filled with more deception and seduction." Everybody was a pawn in this game. The entire city was like a board game. If Elvin tried to flee from her, Eve would lockdown the entire nation, and she knew the right people to call.

"Why don't you join Conrad and me? We were about to play a little game." Liam and I exchanged glances. "What game?" he asked. "It's just a harmless little game. It'll be fun," Toralei reassured. "We already have plans," I countered. Toralei frowned. "It's just a game, Jenna. It'll be over soon, and then you can continue with your plans. Besides, it's just the four of us. Unless you're scared, Jenna." "No, I'm not." "Then let's do it."

"Then can you go to Gomorra? I really need some books. Without it, I won't be able to do anything or create anything." "That would be hard getting into Gomorra, but, I will try my best to bring the books you want here. You might have a little problem with Mercury." "Mercury? Don't worry, I can handle him. I have something up his sleeve that I can hold on to." "Ok. I will leave immediately." "Thank you so much Hermes. This is really kind of you." He smiled and left the room. Rielle smirked and crossed her arms. "This is really going to be interesting. I will change my antagonist and make him into someone better." she left the room.

she said as she stood up hastily. Claretta just smiled, taking some files from another employee. Claretta watched in surprise, many of them were busy playing on their cell phones rather than busy doing their work in front of the computer. "What are you doing?" asked Claretta curiously. Several people started to gather around him and show them their electronic novels. "Look at this!" suddenly a cell phone pointed at Claretta's face. For a moment, Claretta saw the title of the novel 'Knight and 4 Ultimate'. Claretta skimmed the title of the online novel and Claretta felt dizzy at their behavior.

Dear Reader Thank you for reading the first chapter of the book called, Hot Under Cover. Hot Undercover was originally written as an Interactive Story Game. I am in the process of adapting it into a novel form. The original version contains a great deal of dialogue to fit the platform for which it was intended.
