CHAPTER 45 POV: Mia November arrived quietly. The specific grey of it, not the dramatic cold of deep winter but the particular muted quality of a month that hadn’t decided yet. Mornings that required a coat. Evenings that went dark too early and stayed that way. She’d settled into the rhythm of it.

👥 She's a newbie I think 👥 How could she talk to my Ricardo that way 👥 She's crazy 👥 How dare she do that. "I'm the victim here you junkie!" November yelled. "How dare you!" Ricardo shouted. "How dare you!" November shouted back, moving closer. "Clean my bonnet right now b*tch!" Ricardo ordered. November looked at the car and then at Ricardo. "January to November is for trouble, December is for rest, that's why I'm November" she smirked and walked to the car.

The kind without urgency. She texts him. Night Eleven is my favorite so far. He texts back in three minutes. It took the longest to write. Why? Because I had to find the language for something that doesn't feel like anything dramatic. It just — is. Every morning. It's harder to write about things that are constant than things that change. She looks at the text. At the October morning through the kitchen window. That's why it's the best one, she texts back. Because you found the language for the thing that's hardest to say.

She has the particular quality she gets on evenings when she has been reading alone for a long time and has arrived at the end of the book and needs the transition back to the world — a slight adjustment, like someone stepping from one kind of light into another. "What are you doing?" she asks. "Writing," Valentina says. "You always write on Tuesdays," Clara says. "This is a different kind of writing," Valentina says. "Once a year, in November, I write about the year that happened. What I learned. What changed."

I've completely fallen in love with my characters, and spent tons of time developing them!
