Novel & Cerita November Writing Challenge

I said, with my voice booming around the walls of the classroom. "You are all to write a novel, the word count should not be less than thirty. Take note. You have a month and few days to finish it all up, no lazinees and no slacking. Just see it as another type of nanowrimo. So by next month ending, I would be expecting ebooks novels in PDF format, all of it should be sent to my email" I turned around swiftly, to scribble my email on the whiteboard. "I will be awarding the overall best of it all. Good day class." I said, dismissing them with a wave of my hand. They all moved out of the clsss with different expressions on their faces.

Elara ------- February arrived the way it always did — grey and indifferent, the city stripped of the drama that winter had promised and delivering instead a flat persistent cold that asked nothing of anyone except endurance. She liked February. It was an honest month. She wrote every day now. Not the reactive journalism of the past six months — the counter-statements and the pre-emptive pieces and the press cycle management. The book. Real work. The kind that required you to sit with something difficult and not reach for the easier version.

"Just for a week. Just to see if the quiet helps." Celeste says yes. --- The writer arrives in October. She's younger than most of the residents, early thirties, with dark hair and nervous hands. She spends the first three days walking the beach, not writing, just being. Celeste doesn't push. Just hold space. On the fourth day, the writer writes. Twenty pages. A breakthrough. "Thank you," she says. "Thank yourself." "For what?" "For showing up." --- Winter is coming. Sofia is nine now — wiser, taller, more herself. She reads before bed, chapter books with small print, disappearing into worlds of magic and adventure.

The mighty moon watched over us, a silent witness to our love and the promises of a future filled with joy and endless possibilities. __________ Dear readers, What an amazing journey this has been! A whole year ago, I embarked on the adventure of writing this novel, and alongside the resilient Nesta, I have witnessed myself grow and let go of the fears that once bound me. It's been a transformative experience, and I couldn't be more grateful for your support throughout.

November moves differently than October did. October was emergency rooms and midnight calls and sessions that changed the shape of things. November is something else. It has the quality of a month that knows it follows something enormous and has decided not to compete with it. Just to be the month that comes after. I resume back to work on Monday.

Dear cherished Reader, I have read all your requests for two or more chapters, which makes me happy because it means that you are enjoying reading the story as much as I enjoy writing it. Trust me, it’s what I intended for this month because I feel better and want to end the story by the end of the month but the problem is, I’m afraid of when my challenge would kick in again. I’ve had this health challenge for five years now so though I feel better sometimes, it usually doesn’t last long and for which reason the story might extend to April ending.
