Numberblock Books Novels & Stories

We scatter all the books and found plenty of titles that start with the letter that is written on the sticky note beside where we will enter the passcode. Marina got four books that start with the letter A and eight L. Mine got six P and five M out of the categories on the bookshelf. "Is this still even working?" I asked and she nodded. "We got 6485" Then the books split like an opening curtain in a theater after pressing the digits we found. The floorboards in the office rumble slightly as it opens. "Good job, boy," She said and then slammed her palm against my back. I beamed.

“Are there others in the series?” “Lots.” Nicholas was already turning on his heel. His voice echoed through the house as he hurried down the hall, headed toward his study. I followed him part of the way, stopping at the base of the stairs. I didn’t need to wait for long, because he came bounding back down the stairs shortly after, stopping a few steps above me. He handed me a stack of books. “Here’s all the books in the series. Trust me, it gets a lot more interesting in book two.”

This whole place was starting to look like a maze. “I just have to get out of here soon,” he mumbled to himself. He wasn’t a fan of books, but he was going to do all he could to make sure that he found the truth. Finally, he settled on 4 big books that were laced with images of tree monsters. They were actually a thing, and it was crazy that no one had realised this till now. He pulled the books to the nearby table and dumped them on it. One had a lock, and he skipped that since he didn’t have a key. Focusing instead on the other smaller books.

All three are labeled Testing with numbers. The first on is 1-30. Then 31-45. Then 46-… None of which bode well for our luna. And as we start to read through what happened, that feeling just gets worse and worse.

And then, because she was Lyra: "Can I keep the numbering system?" "For your own blocks," Zara said. "At home. Yes." Lyra nodded, satisfied. She went to her room. She came back three minutes later with the notebook open to the page that apparently contained the block numbering system and showed it to Zara with the seriousness of a person presenting work that should be assessed. Zara looked at it. It was a careful grid — numbers assigned to each block shape with a symbol for each color variation. The handwriting was large and somewhat uneven, the writing of a five-year-old who was still learning the physical skill of letters, but the system itself was logical. Complete.

Little me was in desperate need for love and affection, she was praying Kennedy and Robert would be a mommy and daddy. Finally came the cake, it was a chocolate cake, what little would say no to a chocolate cake, I had a generous slice that I devoured happily. Next was opening of presents for Robert he had some good ones and others he just closed back the box and gave his friends the third finger making me giggle. I stayed silent watching him open all his gifts giving thanks to each one for the none offending ones, lastly was Kennedy’s gift, it was the book she got from my job. He must he a bookworm like me. My little side wanted him to read me bed time stories.
