The Heart of a Luna
Titania screeches, and quickly grips her hands behind her back to stop me from seeing her fingernails growing out in sharp, long, razors.
When nymphs are provoked to anger, they drop their masks. The beautiful woman distorts and she shows her true self. Grey, dishevelled, knotted and dry hair, sightless eyes, long pointy nose, very thin lips.
Her perfect pearly whites sharpen, filling her mouth with pointy teeth that can tear through muscle and point as easily as any wolf can.
The nymphs hate it when that happens. They can't stand their own, true forms.
“He won’t kill me,” Lyric says with the kind of confidence I don’t feel. “At least not right away. He can’t have fun with me if I’m dead.”
