Voyages In The Night

Voyages In The Night

I yell. Nikita and I join the fray, and it seemed like more zombies had joined the fight than what there were originally. They just kept multiplying! We hear a great keening sound and see other creatures joining us, helping us. “What are those things!?” I yell at Nerina, who is by my side. “Those would be the finfolk, sea nymphs, and sirens coming to the rescue gramps!” She shouts back as she plunges her sword between the eyes of the zombie she was fighting.

Beauty and the Beasts

Beauty and the Beasts

Once the image of the wolf formed completely, Alpha Zane's eyes suddenly closed, and he fell to the floor. Kane came forward, but the priestess raised her hand to stop him. The ritual wasn't complete yet. She closed her eyes and continued with her chants, the fire growing bigger and bigger. Suddenly, the wolf turned away from Zane's unconscious body, and it bounded off at top speed. The priestess finally let her hands down, and the fire died slowly too. She opened her eyes, now blank and without the colored part. Kane watched, his eyes thin. The priestess closed her eyes again, and took in a deep breath. When she opened her eyes again, she was back to normal.

Mastering Charlotte

Mastering Charlotte

In brilliant shades of electric blue and iridescent green, their scintillating wings compete with the sparkle of the water for beauty and attention. As he peers to see what holds her so spellbound, she points in close to where a brown-shelled monster is rising out of the water, climbing up a reed. Only a couple of inches long, it is a monster nonetheless. Then she points again to another, and another. Some are only just escaping their watery haven. Others have settled higher up the stems. Yet others have split open at the back of their ugly casing and something is squeezing its way out. And, in one or two places, can be seen the escaped occupants sitting drying in the sunshine, their sheath

ass and made me see her first design. “Here it is! This first dress is an off-shoulder mermaid dress. Its fabric is going to be embroidered with exquisite floral décor. I made it simple, but its simplicity will speak for itself like an extinct creature, nobody else could ever have such beauty, but only you.” Her eyes were twinkling like the stars. How I wish I have a cousin like her. She then flipped the page to show me the second design. “This one on the other hand is a trumpet dress and it will be adorned with 500 crystals. Once you walk down the aisle it will be like walking on the clouds. As the lights hit the crystals you will be entering the world of fairies. What I really wanted on bo

Butterflies

Butterflies

They began to charge against the Soul Drenching Squirrels in their full mights. “Your souls are mine!” the Soul Drenching Squirrels declared and, together, they were able to send a mighty dragon-like mist run through the advancing beasts. Kira laughed. “That might work on others, but these are only existing due to the Euphenic Call of the Deities, they possess no souls from their own driving forces!” “No souls?” the eyes of the Soul Drenching Squirrels watered. That could have been said to be their strongest trump card from the way they turned to this, during this dire life-threatening situation. Who would've known that it'd be ineffective to these?

Legendary Goddess

Legendary Goddess

the nurse said and bowed. If you don't know, Yna, Alexa, Me, Clarence, Blaze, Clyde, Drake and I are princes and princesses. This is because there are 6 kingdoms. First is the Fire kingdom where the prince and princess are Blaze and Alexa. Second is the Earth Kingdom of which Clarence is the prince. Third is the wind kingdom where the princess is me. Fourth is the Water kingdom where Yna is the princess. Fifth is the Ice kingdom of which Clyde is the prince. Sixth is that the Royal Kingdom is the ruler or highest and most powerful of all kingdoms and it’s prince is Drake and Princess is the princess. Maybe it’s already obvious what power we had right? But the princess is in the mortal world

It'll ruin everything I have going now. I'm happy now. I have a mate who I love. We got married even, as an Alpha bloodline tradition. It's to honor the first Moon Goddess who supposedly fell in love with a human and stepped down from her role to be with him. It's said that their children were the first Lycans, who werewolves later descended from. Lesa and I are hoping to start a family soon. I want three, she wants four. Will she want children with me still, after whatever comes out, comes out?

THE FORGOTTEN LUNA

THE FORGOTTEN LUNA

“No, not here. There might be water nymphs here. They usually come out at midnight, and who knows, they might have the approval of the King to allure participants.” “So, are they going to use other species against us?” Draco asked. “They did in the past. Made it easier to eliminate participants.” He replied, and we began walking again. “I was actually expecting a water nymph earlier in the lake, but nothing came. But we’d better prepare than get surprised.” “Tell us more,” I said. “Nothing really to tell. We all know they can allure us with their voice and by locking eyes with them, so whenever we are around bodies of water, make sure to use your hearing wisel

I started this book back in Dec when it had maybe 60 chapters. The slow updates turned me off, so I started another book that was started in Dec. The book is completed today with 157 chapters yet this 1 still hasn't made any progress. Waste of my time. It’s been 4 mths N only 40 added chapters. Smh.

The Water Girl

The Water Girl

River "Miss Stephenson, wake up!" Our math teacher, Ms. Davis, shouts at the girl sitting next to me. I give her a gentle shake to wake her up, but as always, I get yelled at for it. I've always been the odd one out, the outsider. I'm the water girl for the football team because I can't play any sports. My two left feet always hold me back. One of the popular girls on the team, Marie, insults me, calling me the "nasty girl" and saying she'll have to scrub her arm until it bleeds to get my "nastiness" off.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nymphs get reduced to 'pretty nature spirits' way too often. Sure, the classic version is bound to a specific tree, spring, or mountain, and they're usually immortal as long as their anchor is safe. That vulnerability is interesting—it’s a built-in tragic flaw. But what I find more compelling is when authors twist that. I read this one indie fantasy where a dryad’s tree was cut down, but instead of dying, her consciousness shattered into the local ecosystem, making the whole forest sentient and vengeful. That felt fresh.

Too many stories just use them as love interests or damsels. I want nymphs with agency, whose protectiveness of their domain crosses into genuine menace. The idea that beauty is just a facet of something ancient and territorial. When they’re written well, they’re not just decorations; they’re environmental forces with very personal stakes. Their morality should feel alien, rooted in cycles of growth and decay, not human codes. That’ s the potential I keep hoping more books will tap into.
