We stood on the altar adorned with a knife, a book, a bowl, and candles. It was a ritual to please the goddess. Just as we were about to be sacrificed, I caught the scent of Ophelia's arousal.
"Abomination," I whispered, scanning the crowd for the silver eyes of the goddess' daughter.
Áspro understood what I meant. Ophelia mating with a mortal was forbidden, and the goddess was here to punish her.
"Ophelia," Fitia's voice sent chills down everyone's spines. They all bowed their heads, for no one had ever seen the face of the goddess and lived to tell the tale.
