Each female was to answer two questions, a riddle and a test of judgment.
One of the elders stepped forward.
His voice was low, grave, and carried the weight of centuries.
“If your Alpha ordered mercy, but the pack demanded blood… would you obey him or follow the will of the wolves?”
Tania’s eyes narrowed, reading their expressions. A trap question, one where either answer could condemn her.
She held her chin high.
“I would follow the Alpha,” she said clearly, confidently. “But if he was wrong, I would make him see it. Power is loyalty, not blind obedience.”
