Obligations And Contracts の小説・ストーリー

I wish I could shout at her, make her understand that she belongs to me, that she owes me, and this damn thing is not over yet! "You betrayed me!" I speak low. She frowns. "What the hell are you talking about?" "I'm talking about the damn clause where you were supposed to be faithful to me as I was to you! I'm talking about you breaking the damn contract. So, you owe me, Evy Dixon!" I yell, and then silence takes over the place. "This is madness!" She whispers after a while. "You got what you wanted, so I don't owe you anything!" She insists.

They had a Shared Pulse. Thomas presided over the ceremony, his hands resting on the iron frame of the press. "In the old world, a contract was a fence," he told the gathered crowd. "It defined where you ended and the other began. In the 'Second Edition,' a contract is a Harmonic. It is the agreement to vibrate at the same frequency, even when the world is out of tune."

Taylor joked. When Charlie laughed, he insisted, “Seriously, Babe. I’m that good at math. I find X before it even goes missing.” “Okay, Mr. Dean’s Lister, if you insist,” Charlie said while sitting beside him. She handed him the book. “Start reading.” Taylor grabbed Charlie’s book and read, “The Legal Implications of Breach of Contract in Commercial Transactions. In commercial transactions, a breach of contract occurs when one party fails to fulfill its obligations as stipulated in a legally binding agreement, leading to potential legal consequences…”

In exchange for her compliance, he will cover all medical expenses related to her mother's treatment. The contract is strictly transactional and therefore no children will be needed. If she breaks any of the terms, the contract will be terminated and she will be sued for breaking the contract. I exhaled sharply, closing the file before looking up at him. He was watching me, calm and composed, as if he had done this a hundred times before. “This is insane,” I muttered. His expression didn’t change. “It’s practical.” I let out a small laugh. “You’re offering me money in exchange for being your wife. That’s not practical, that’s insane.”

He paused with his hand on the handle, not looking at her. "One more thing. The contract mentions rules. No emotions, no personal questions, no real relationship. I need you to understand that those aren't just suggestions. They're the terms of our agreement. If you break them—" "You'll what? Divorce me? Take away the money?" Mira crossed her arms. "Go ahead. Finish the threat."

I just wanted to hug him and never let go. "I won't cheat. I won't leave you. I won't die before my time. But if someday something happens to me, I want you to be safe. I want you not to have to go back to your uncle's house. I want you to be able to live decently without me," he said. He took the paper. "This is our new contract," he said. He stepped closer. His hand reached for my waist. "Now, what about a wife's obligations to her husband?"

"He brought our contract." "What contract?" "A contract that binds us together," he said. "Binds us? I thought you said this was all just pretend?" I asked. "And it is. Believe me, I have no desire to be tied down by a woman either." "Then what is this contract for?" I asked, seething with anger. "It’s a legal document formalizing our deal. There will be consequences if either of us breaks it," he said. I stared at him in horror. "What kind of consequences?" I asked.

Enough language to be unmistakable. Cohabitation obligations, discretionary conduct clauses. Financial settlement upon dissolution.. A contract, a marriage laid out in bullet points and subclauses like an office lease. I turned the laptop slightly so the document filled the screen clearly. "I have proof," I said..

His eyes drifted to my belly. "You need to take responsibility for this, Adam," I said, looking him in the eye. "You have to marry me." His lips parted. For a second, I got distracted with his red lips. Damn. I knew how good those lips were. "You're insane, Claire. How could you think of marriage when we don't even know each other?" I just arched my brow. "But you got me pregnant. You need to take responsibility for this." He let out another curse, then tilted his head upward. He looked at the night sky for a few minutes. I saw how his Adam's apple moved. "Fine. I'll father your child," he said, meeting my eyes. "But I won't marry you."

It’s like he’s not talking about living people, but about a routine deal. “What else should I know about the contract?” I ask irritably, raising an eyebrow. “Don’t tell me I’m obligated to fulfill marital duties too!” “Of course,” the bastard smirks, licking me with his eyes. “But here, everything is by mutual consent.” “Pff!” I snort. “Not a chance!” “If I were you, I wouldn’t be so sure,” he smiles smugly and mockingly. “I can be quite persuasive. And it’s in your interest to be an obedient wife, capable of satisfying my appetites.”
