Rebirth: What’s Left Of Me

Rebirth: What’s Left Of Me

"It never does get easier, does it?" I shook my head. "No, it doesn't." We climbed into the car, the weight of what was coming settling over us. Jason drummed his fingers on the steering wheel. "Well, let's go back and plot. If Orla wants to play chess, we'll make sure she ends up in checkmate." I exhaled slowly, staring out the window as he pulled away from the curb. I just want this mission to finally end after six months. *** Matthew McDougall was exactly the kind of irredeemable trash Aunt Orla would surround herself with. A former athlete, a registered sex offender, and a violent narcissist with a deluded sense of superiority—he was the perfect target.

You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone

You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone

Yara held a meat skewer in her left hand and a waffle in her right, looking thoroughly satisfied. "I haven't been here since graduation. I missed these." Calista had stayed up late last night and rested all day. So, she wasn't particularly hungry. She only took small bites of the skewer in Yara's hand. "Eat up, babe." The two bantered for a while before Yara took on a more serious demeanor. "Did you know that Kyros is sick?" "I do. He's a psycho." "He suffers from paranoia, OCD, mild mania, and various mood disorders. He's also a sociopath."

CHARMSTIDJA
Dam*! this story captivates my adrenaline I'll have to force myself for an interval, how much more assaults Callie has to go through before she gets her happy ending. Lily in the name of wealth/fame is just another typical homewrecker hypocritical Bit*h! too many exist even in non-fictional world

i just started reading. i hope it is not as disappointing like other stories i read, exciting to read in the beginning because of the great character build up, but more chapters were added, the more the story become disappointing. The character came out of what they where built up. I hope not.

Alpha and Omega

"Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She's been doing great, now I just don't know" Sia looks so helpless. I want to reach out and console him. I don't know what this OCD is, never heard about it before, but I'm sure it's pretty bad, judging by the look on his face. "Have you tried getting help? I don't know maybe therapy?". He scoffs. "That's what Izal specializes in. Mental disorders and all that shit. She tried to kill him during their first session together. Now Izal has only one arm".

She was never his to own

I said, needing to focus on something concrete, something that wasn't the horrible truth spilling out of his mouth. "Of course I did. They were following my instructions from before the accident. Instructions from a man who…" He stopped, pressing his palms against his eyes. "I don't remember being that person. But I can see the evidence. I can read my own words. And Elena, I was a monster." "You had OCD," I said, not sure why I was defending him. "Trauma from your father's affairs. Untreated paranoia."

Billionaire's Contract Baby

Caleb chuckled and took the coffee from the Doctor. “Sorry, just part of the job.” Before sipping on the coffee, Caleb shrugged and said, “Thanks”. “Can I ask to hear your evaluation?” Doctor Waba questioned and sat down. “By your body language, you are proud of who you are. You are a family man and have OCD, which I assume is why you became a phycologist yourself. You are the type of person to enjoy art galleries and try to find peace through everything you do. Am I on the right track?”

would love to read more and find out how the book's going to end and if this is the ending not too good writer it was left like a cliffhanger. Is they're going to be another book, please finish story. Feeling sad paid for an unfinished book.
Melissa
Excellent book kept me pulled in. Is there going to be another or is this the end? I see how you switched the characters to show how they met but the animosity between Caleb and Declan is not brought to light. It’s more like a cliffhanger ending.

Frequently Asked Questions

Characters who are addicted versus obsessed can be so fascinating to analyze because their motivations feel so human, even in extreme circumstances. Take someone like Gollum from 'The Lord of the Rings'—his obsession with the One Ring isn't just about power; it's a slow, consuming madness that twists his entire identity. He doesn't just want it; he can't conceive of existing without it. That's obsession, where the thing controls you completely.

Then there's addiction, like Jesse Pinkman from 'Breaking Bad.' His drug use isn't about devotion; it's a cycle of dependency, self-destruction, and fleeting relief. The highs and lows feel chaotic, like he's trapped in a loop he can't escape. What gets me is how both types of characters make you empathize—whether it's Gollum's tragic downfall or Jesse's struggle to break free, they feel painfully real.
