The Twin Who Took It All

The Twin Who Took It All

The mechanical ticking of the digital clock on the mahogany desk felt less like a standard tracking of time and more like a heavy, metronomic count down toward an absolute corporate execution. It was exactly 8:53 AM on Monday morning. The narrow, cold beam of high-altitude winter light that managed to slice through the heavy motorized velvet drapes had crawled further across the dark grain of the timber, illuminating the rigid gray ink strings of Ava Osborn’s bound hundred-page ledger like a permanent legal indictment. Inside the sealed perimeter of the study, the air remained entirely frozen, trapped in a predatory silence that completely choked out the domestic noise of the luxury penthous

OFFSTAGE, on my Mind

OFFSTAGE, on my Mind

answer had ruined their brand. It was peaceful. Too peaceful. Because when it was peaceful, I forgot what time it was. I checked the clock and my stomach dropped. 7:58. Two minutes until Drew. I rinsed my hands fast and started packing my kit like my life depended on it. Jace noticed instantly. “He’s coming.” “Yep,” I said. “And he’s going to ask if I stayed ‘for conversation.’” Jace’s jaw tightened. “You stayed because we asked.”

Craving The Enemy's Husband

Craving The Enemy's Husband

Chapter 18 **Christiana’s POV** The clock on my desk ticked past 7:15 p.m., loud and judgmental like it was personally offended I was still here at work. Everyone else had clocked out hours ago, their chairs abandoned like they were fleeing a crime scene. The office was dead quiet and a little too spooky for my liking, but I have to do what I have to do. I never thought that being alone in a department in a big building as this could make me feel like I’m being watched by ghosts, it was that spooky.

In the Darkness of City Blocks

In the Darkness of City Blocks

He looked at his watch, the small black hand points to three, the big one to thirty. - Why do I look at the clock? I already know perfectly well that it's half past four now, oh, these habits. Joints crunched. Conrod finished all his work at work, he wrote three articles when his other colleagues did not even finish one. I gave my book to circulation, they promised to do it very quickly, we'll see. Conrod packed a laptop into a bag, turned off the working computer, immediately cutting off the power to the surge protector. At the exit, the taxi he called half an hour ago was already waiting for him.

FALLING FOR FOREVER

FALLING FOR FOREVER

Chapter 11: The Meeting The clock on Ethan's office wall ticked loudly in the oppressive silence, a reminder that time was slipping away. He sat at his desk, hands steepled in front of his face, staring at the documents spread before him as if they held the secrets to the universe. *Tomorrow,* he thought, *the meeting with Spring Entertainment. Olivia.*

Omega (Book 2)

Omega (Book 2)

It was like he was trying to remember where he was. “What time is it?” he asked. Wilkes took a quick glance at his wristwatch. “6:34,” he said. “If you don't get up now, when you finally do, the day's activities will be twice as difficult to gi through.” Harold grunted as he got on his feet. He knew that was true. He looked around the room as if searching for something. “Looking for anything?” Wilkes asked. “Yeah, yeah,” Harold drawled. “The waffles. I'm really hungry.”

Mafia Men: Nikolai's Inferno

Mafia Men: Nikolai's Inferno

I sighed in relief as I read the name “A Clockwork Orange” I looked around to see if anyone was looking and opened the book, all the pages were cut out, and a burner phone was placed in the middle. I grabbed the phone, slammed the book shut, and placed it back on the bookshelf. I shoved the phone into my bag and walked out of the library. My hands were trembling, my legs were shaking. I looked around and a smiling Layla came into my view. Not knowing what to do, I started rambling about random things, "Hi, I was busy for a few days with my birthday and all—"

This mafia series is wonderful. Once you read it you'll understand how beautiful this series is. The plot is not like any other story. I keep re-reading this series, especially this book. I never regretted finding this book. Every character is well written. Nikolai is absolutely one of my favorites.

27 chapters read, the book is really addicting, although I am not a fan of very young innocent female leads. My second book from this author, the first one was the one with the mayor's wife. I must say I liked that one more, it was something different, many books have similar storylines, this one too

The CEO’s Temptation

The CEO’s Temptation

Chapter 150 – The Quiet Befo. ***********************POV: Rowe*************************** I prefer clocks ticking quietly in empty offices. They mark the world moving—even when nothing else does. I found myself watching a clock today, hoping the seconds would pass faster. But each tick was a reminder of a brewing storm. After our victories—the charges, the public shift, the raid—I expected calm. Instead, I felt an electric undercurrent. Something that whispered: Wait for it.
