One Dark Window Series Novels & Stories

Arriving home late at night, he was soaked from the rain as he used his key to open the door and entered his home. The darkness in his house stemmed from the absence of lights, all switched off. Aware that it was late at night, he knew both his mother and Kelly were fast asleep. Upon entering, he headed straight upstairs to his room. Then, he switched on his side table lamp. He went to the bathroom to change his clothes before settling onto the bed. Seated on the bed, he observed the open windows with the night sky enveloped in darkness, occasionally illuminated by flashes of lightning after the rain. Then, he rose from the bed to close the open window.

**A Door to Darkness** The once cozy cabin has become a fortress under siege. The wind howls outside, shaking the fragile structure, while the ominous voice beyond the door echoes with a bone-chilling threat. Shadows dance on the walls, illuminated only by the flickering light from the fireplace. Inside, the tension is suffocating as Ethan, Sophia, and Jason stand frozen, their minds racing to comprehend the danger creeping closer.

The shadows pursued them, their movements unnaturally fast and erratic. One by one, the group climbed through the window, Anna clutching the book tightly to her chest. As her feet hit the pavement, she glanced back at the library. The shadows stood at the broken window, watching them with glowing eyes. One of them raised a hand and waved slowly before disappearing into the darkness. --

Dawn broke gray and bitter over the coastal cliffs, the winter light doing nothing to warm the etched words still scarring our bedroom window. I woke to find Devon's side of the bed empty, the sheets cold, and a note on the nightstand in his sharp, aggressive handwriting: Command center. Don't look at the window. —D I looked at the window anyway. The message was still there, gouged into the glass like a wound that refused to close. In the pale morning light, it looked less like a threat and more like a scar—a permanent mark on our sanctuary that no amount of security upgrades could erase.

Aiden stood by the window, gazing silently into the distance. The unexpected drizzle and icy wind filled the entire room with a cold atmosphere. Cassian placed a hand on Aiden's shoulder from behind. At that exact moment, the room went completely dark. "Oh. The power's out," Cassian said awkwardly. Aiden didn't respond. He simply continued watching the rain through the window. Cassian struck a match and lit an old glass lantern. The golden glow illuminated his calm face, making it emerge from the darkness. He walked over to Aiden and stopped so close that their bodies almost touched.

We didn't let the darkness win. END OF VOLUME ONE

Like she's been expecting her. Then she disappeared. And deep out of the interior of house oak rest sounded the sound of oneself opening door.
