DEPTHS OF SHADOWS

DEPTHS OF SHADOWS

Its eyes were as red as blood and its presence gives a chilling and horrifying feel. “The two witch kids...have you heard about the prophecy?” The twins looked at each other being puzzled. “Oh, I see, I would be glad that I will be the one to tell your fate...” The evil of shadows made them confused. “...if one of you succeeds to become the ruler of the separate worlds, it will be the end of everything.” As Falla moved her pace to her brother trying to hide at her twin's back, Talon eventually vanished and was nowhere to be found. The evil of shadows moved closer in her direction. She feels heaviness and high tension as the evil comes closer and closer to her.

The Moon Shadow

The Moon Shadow

Stripping off my clothes, I left them and my bag under a redwood tree, then I let Rose take over. "Let's run to our heart's content! Then we'll take a bath in the river," I said to her. Under the luminous gaze of the full moon, I felt an irresistible force surging through my being. My heart quickened with anticipation. Closing my eyes, I focused on the power within, embracing the ancient magic that coursed through my veins. It began with a tingling sensation, like a thousand tiny needles tracing patterns across my skin. My bones shifted, and a rush of euphoria washed over me as my human form started to contort.

Shadows in Arms

Shadows in Arms

Moonlight filtered through broken skylights, casting shadows that moved like living things. "Hello?" My voice echoed off concrete walls. "You came." Camilla stepped out of the shadows, looking immaculate in a designer coat despite the surroundings. "I honestly did not think you would. Thought you would be too smart to walk into such an obvious trap." "Where is my brother?" "Safe. For now." She moved closer, heels clicking against concrete. "But whether he stays that way depends entirely on what happens next." "What do you want from me?" "The truth. Finally." She pulled out a folder, similar to the ones I had seen before. "Do you know what is in here?"

Shadows of the Lost

Shadows of the Lost

“I see, you still had an obsidian shadow.” Sure enough, Kleint did have an obsidian-black shadow. It was covering his body, flexing in his outline. The way it stretched was just beyond normal, considering that it even covered up his neck, forming a specialized polo coat with buttons in the middle, and a cape so extreme that it had spikes in it. “You’re being humble, Luis. We all know that all legends possess such a shadow.” Coughing a little, Marjorie—with the help of Granny—tried to sit, exhaling rather heavily. “W-What’s the thing—what’s the thing about these shadows—obsidian whatnot?”

Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.

The Reaver Chronicles: Raphael (Book 2)

The Reaver Chronicles: Raphael (Book 2)

With a deep breath, I felt The Shadows retreat to their usual place at my heels, their dark energy simmering just beneath the surface, waiting to be called upon once more. The Shadows had become an integral part of my existence, a constant companion that had been by my side for centuries. They were more than just a tool or a power - they were a familiar presence, a comforting shadow that followed me everywhere. I had grown accustomed to their silent obedience, their willingness to wait for my next command.

Ghost on the highway

Ghost on the highway

CHAPTER 125—THE ASCENSION OF SHADOW The ground quaked beneath them, fissures splitting the scorched earth, jagged lines of light and shadow stretching across the horizon. The sky above tore into rips of grey and black, the clouds writhing like living things. From the horizon, the colossal shadow rose, its form now fully materialised—a being of incomprehensible scale, limbs stretching far beyond what the eye could grasp. Its eyes blazed with white fire, scanning the battlefield with predatory intelligence.

THE CURSED ONE

THE CURSED ONE

Shouts rang out. She steadied herself and whispered “Miguma…” “I’m here.” Came her voice. “Do you know what is doing this?” Laura asked silently. “I don’t know. But one thing I can say is, all creatures, visible and invisible cast a shadow.” Laura’s eyes widened. She snapped her eyes towards crowd and squinted her eyes. She saw so many shadows. She couldn’t tell witch one. But then she saw it looked different. It was taller and very bulky. Like a giants.

A dance with the villian

A dance with the villian

I melted into the shadows, dodging each attack, the heat grazing my skin but never quite touching me. I emerged from the darkness once more, sending tendrils of shadow snaking toward him. This time, they were thicker, more solid. They wrapped around his arms and legs, pinning him in place. I tightened my grip, feeling the shadows constrict his movements. Hyperion struggled, his muscles bulging as he tried to break free, but the shadows held firm. For a moment, it seemed like I had him. But then, with a roar of effort, Hyperion's body exploded with solar energy. The shadows disintegrated under the intense heat, and I was forced to retreat, shielding my eyes from the blinding light.

Being sold To The Highest Bidder

Being sold To The Highest Bidder

Dupree, with his rune-infused blade, fended off the Shadows, each strike causing them to momentarily dissipate. Seraphina and I focused on the chest, attempting to harness its energy. As we channeled our combined powers, the chest began to glow brighter, emitting a frequency that seemed to disorient the Shadows. Moros, seizing the opportunity, shouted, "Now! Push them back!" With a collective effort, we unleashed a wave of energy, forcing the Shadows to retreat. But just as victory seemed within grasp, the ground trembled beneath us, and from the abyss, a colossal Shadow emerged, its presence dwarfing the others.

Her Shield in the Shadows

Her Shield in the Shadows

I let out a piercing shriek, covering my ears. "Putangina..." Dominic gasped, his breathing turning incredibly shallow and ragged. When I frantically looked down at him, my heart stopped... dark, thick blood was rapidly soaking through the fabric of his pant leg. Shaking with pure terror, I grabbed his shoulders, but he immediately reached up, cupping my cheeks with his trembling hands to force me to look at him. "Raegan, my love, listen to me very carefully..." he whispered urgently.
