Her wanderings led her to a momentary pause, her gaze fixated on a room visible through the translucent Thai glass. Intrigued by the mysterious room, Hazel gingerly turned the knob and stepped into what appeared to be a sanctuary of knowledge, lined with towering bookshelves. The air inside was laced with the scent of aged paper. What is it? Is he really fond of books? Her fingers traced the spines of the books. Unable to resist the allure, Hazel reached for a book titled "Little Women." Leaning against its edge, she resisted the urge to sit and instead propped herself up, opening the book to its first page.

Chloe opened the book and her eyes widened. This book... She scanned the pages and then let out a huff of disbelief. Why are there empty pages?

My sex clenches, and I press my thighs together, heat blooming in places I shouldn’t be thinking about this early in the day. Then I notice something else. At the foot of the bed, beside the dress, sits the book I took from the library but forgot to read. The Herd King. Its leather cover is worn smooth from age, but its presence is undeniable. Someone retrieved it. They want me to read it. I sit on the edge of the bed and pull it into my lap. My fingers trace the title carved into the leather. I feel like I’m holding something sacred. Like opening this book will do more than reveal stories.

, I asked nervous. Eva nodded no and kept climbing the stairs. She pulled her hand against the railing for support and she walked into the study. She looked aroudn adn walked near teh shelf. The books were all gone. I had picked them all. Eva was still searching for something so I said again, "Eve... the things here has been moved. Did you want a book? This house is sold", I declared.

“Can’t have a notebook without a pen.” “Will you read a chapter to me?” Caitlyn asked. “Before you go to see the others?” “Of course,” Chloe said, reaching for the book. “Now lie back and get comfortable.” Chloe cleared her throat dramatically and then opened the cover of the book. “Harriet the Spy. Chapter one. ‘Harriet was trying to explain to Sport how to play Town.’”

I plead but she quickly turn around to face me. "Do it now" she states. I look at her in shock, I can't remember the last time I touched that book. I walk to the nightstand close to my bed, opening the drawer, I grab the book and hesitantly walk towards her. "If it doesn't open, I'm taking my book"

She sighed and decided to make do with the towel for now. Hailee's eyes fell on the bookshelf, and she decided to pick up one of the books. It was titled "The History of the Pack," and she couldn't help but feel intrigued. As she began to read, she was transported to a world she never knew existed. The pack's origins, their struggles, and triumphs - it was all so fascinating to her.

The paper felt like it was burning my fingertips. Hera. A woman's name. She had loved him. She had craved him just like I did, and he had shut her out. He had said no to her, too. If he hated her, why keep the book? Why hide it like a holy relic? My skin felt tight, a feverish curiosity itching under the surface. I looked toward the library door. I needed to know if every book on those shelves held a piece of her. I was halfway to my feet when the heavy click of the front door echoed through the hallway.

She looked no older than eighteen. "Hello. I'm looking for a book." He said to her. She straightened up instantly, tapping away on her computer. "Of course, Alpha. What book are you looking for this evening?" She asked, her body stiff as she spoke to him. Was his presence that intimidating? "I'm actually looking for the book by Lily Thornstun." He mentioned. Her eyes lit up instantly.
