Open When Letters Novels & Stories

“You do realize that basic manners are a thing.” “What are you talking about?” She asked as she looked at him as he rounded the car. “I was just getting out of the car.” “Haven, do you remember that one day you nearly yelled at me for opening a door for you?” he asked as he stood in front of her. “You must have been near thirteen.” “I do. And you than going on a long-winded rant how certain things are a male's duty and all that.” Haven said.

Alpha Chance thanked the she wolf and turned to me and said, “I think the two of us should open this in my office together before taking it to Alpha Hunter and the other Alphas.” I couldn’t agree with him more and moved to follow him to his office. Once inside his office I moved to the bar to pour us both a glass of bourbon, knowing we are going to need this while reading the letter. Alpha Chance moved to his seat and I handed him his glass, while I moved to take a seat myself. Alpha Chance took a long sip of his bourbon before he sat his glass down and opened the sealed envelope.

A monotonous announcement introduced them to the game. “First leg of the trip is to familiarize with your horses for those of you who are not using your own. Trot down the valley till you reach the entrance of the woods.” “When you reach the opening, you will see a letter box with your alphabet if you have reached the spot designated to you. Follow the instructions in mail from there on. Those of you staring at a different Alphabet, please head back and retrace your steps as the keys in you supply kit will open your corresponding boxes. Have fun everyone!”

“A message arrived this morning.” Luna slipped out of bed, pulling on a robe as she crossed to him. “From who?” His jaw ticked. “The Alpha Council.” Her heart skipped. “They know?” “They do more than know.” He turned to face her, holding out the sealed scroll. “They’re demanding an audience. In three days.” Luna’s fingers trembled as she took the scroll. The wax was stamped with the ancient emblem of the High Council—an ouroboros wolf, devouring its own tail.

It smells of him. I reach for the letter and open it. The moment I see my name written on top, everything crumbles, and the tears start falling. ##########

"You assumed you had found the passage to the light." "It doesn't matter anyway. We have got nothing now—" "Not if we take a look deeper. Come and take a look at the four people staring at Alger." Michael drew closer. "If you look at the first person by the left, his body is shaped like an English alphabet." "That is the fourteenth letter of the English alphabet. N!" Michael declared. "Good. Now, take a look at the second person." "He is shaped like the letter, I." "And the third?" "C."

His face slowly turned from confusion to horror while I just stared at the letter that was lying half open on the table already. “If it was, you wouldn’t have gotten the chance to yell” I deadpanned and I watched him slowly process and understand what I was trying to tell him “ohhhh..I guess we are safe and certain it’s not a bomb. Go on and bring it out then, let’s see what it is” He gestured with his head and I just shook my head before opening the letter to see what was in it I brought out the paper, it was an A4 paper that had been printed on and it was addressed to me so I opened it and read it out so James could also hear.

Holding my breath, I pulled the narrow wooden panel fully open. Inside the dark recess sat a small, iron-bound wooden chest. The iron lock mechanism on the front was small, circular, and bore the distinct etching of a three-pointed dagger. My heart hammered against my ribs as I inserted Julian's brass key into the keyhole. It fit seamlessly. I turned the key to the right. The internal iron tumblers shifted with a sharp, heavy click, and the latch sprang open. Inside the chest lay two items: a folded piece of yellowed parchment map and a thin, leather-bound journal marked with the name Julian Vance.

It opened and closed for a few seconds, then the words were out, barely audible. 'I S-car-lett Ba-ra--nov re-reject you alpha Jaxon as my mate. '

Different sizes of books were littered on it. It wasn't a spacious room, but it looked empty because there wasn't much in it. Simon sat on the wooden chair that was placed beneath the reading table as he opened the envelope. In the middle of opening the letter, he felt strange that he paused. On second thought, he summoned courage and opened it because, if left the letter unread, he might not know the importance of the content. This was the first time he was receiving such, so he was a bit anxious. He carefully unfolded the folded parts of the paper which he found in the envelope. Written words came in view, and it read:
