I walked towards the Grymkin's forest, my clan's forest, this is where my clan moved after someone had spread a hideous rumor about us, which is true. Our clan controls fire. The kingdom has given us the title of "Grymkin's Protector" when in fact we can burn this forest down into ashes.

FLASHBACK Rio Sanjaya ordered his dark horse to stop for a moment with a watchful gaze. The surrounding trees were violet under the bluish moonlight. After listening to something for a while, Rio stomped his horse back on his way without haste. Many times his eyes darted to the edge of the path he was passing. The movement in the thickets brought Rio to a halt again, his horse grunting and neighing softly. Rio drew the double-edged ax he threw onto his back. The handle of the object was rather long and silvery in color. Each blade bears a sign of a roaring tiger.

The endless frozen wasteland was thawing. As I walked closer with Raven in my arms, I could see fresh buds emerging from the dead, icy trees. Vines curled and spread at lightning speed. It was miraculous. Rowan and I had both lived through the endless winter and had never witnessed such vibrant life returning. Raven giggled and waved her little fists, almost like she was taking credit for it all. The entire territory buzzed with excitement over the forest coming back to life. That was when Briar showed up out of nowhere with her and Damien's son.

I blinked at her, seeing her adorable expression of a knowing smirk. She knew I didn't hear anything she just said. She giggled, pressing back into me slightly, my hand moving on instinct to wrap her small waist and pull her against me. "This is Winnie," she gestured to the brunette who waved at me with a smile. I rose the folder in a wave back, giving her a tight smile. "Hi," Rose nuzzled me slightly, her hand going to her necklace and playing with it absently, I don't even know she if realised she did either when she stood near her mates. "Winnie is a Fey."

Great. Emma looked outside at the forest of naked trees. Even the bark clear of the snow was white. She watched the wind blow the drifts between the trunks, the flakes swirling toward the cabin in visible gusts. The wind gained strength, blowing the snow and spinning higher into the air, the cloud thickening in spots as it pulled fresh powder from the ground. A rapid succession of Rorschach images blew across the landscape. For just a second, one almost looked like an open mouth.

For a tiny wolf, Avory sure as hell had the speed of a complete adult wolf. She moved gracefully through the dappled sunlight of the dense forest, her white fur seamlessly merged with the vibrant tapestry of leaves and shadows. Sunbeams filtered through the thick canopy, creating a mosaic of light and shade on the moss-covered ground. The air hummed with the subtle melody of rustling leaves and distant bird calls.

POV: ROWAN The heavy oak gates of the Frostwood estate groaned open, revealing a inner courtyard bathed in the sharp, golden light of late afternoon. My war-horse shifted beneath me, its hooves clattering against the damp cobblestones as my vanguard pulled into formation behind me. The scent of northern pine and cold river stone was thick in the air, but beneath it lay the distinct, underlying pulse of the Frostwood pack, restless, watchful, and deeply divided.

A smell had stayed in Justin's nose since he first breathed in with the girl before she fell off the building. Justin stopped in less than two minutes in front of the fallen tree. The sound of breaking branches mixed with a roar, creating a fight noise. Justin watched the fight carefully, waiting for the perfect moment. Right now, Ruby kept avoiding the two wolves that were nearby. There were huge trees that couldn't be knocked down. Ruby attempted to run, but a stunning wolf with white patches around its eyes redirected her. Ruby squeezed her heels together to prevent herself from falling.

Ryland Pov The forest is a blur of shadows and moonlight as you run, the twins’ hands clamped in yours. Ryland’s ragged breaths echo behind you, his wolf form limping but relentless. The air reeks of burnt magic and blood—Elder Marus’s doing. “Faster,” Ryland growls, his voice distorted by the shift. “He’s gaining.” You glance back. Marus’s monstrous form crashes through the trees, his eyes glowing like molten iron. The twins whimper, their fear sharp in the air.
