Instantly she was startled, looking at her husband with astonishment. "Is there something wrong?" she asked. Oskar sat down holding his cell phone which didn't ring anymore. "It doesn't matter...I just don't want you to be bothered by what the office people say," Oskar replied with a sleepy expression. "What is going on?" Sarah asked with a probing look. Oscar sighed. “My company is in a bit of trouble… Uh, I mean….I lost the project tender in Vermont," he lied. "Is that going to be bad?"

Oscar's POV The party was over. But she never left my head. Watching her act like everything was alright even after she had just been rejected was weird. I was expecting her to break down into tears and cry. Maybe shout and yell at Brian. But she acted like she didn't care. If one didn't know, they would think she wasn't hurt.

What were the odds? The memory of her fierce yet radiant eyes lingered, and Walter felt a tug in his chest. He could not deny it—he was captivated by Ms. Foster. At that very moment, Oscar, out of breath, made it to the scene. "Oscar! Stop making a fuss! There are millions of people watching us. You're embarrassing me!" Oscar withdrew his arm and inhaled deeply before answering her firmly. "I'm sorry, but I can't marry you anymore." Evie was shocked. However, she forced a smile on her face and said, "That's not funny."

Joe approached with a big smile on his face, carrying a steaming tray of arrabbiata pasta.
