Heather turned around, shaking in fear. “Mate.” Heath whispered as he looked at her. “Well, fuck…” Jared had a smirk on his face. Heather was trembling beside me. “He is my beta and a good man. I peeked around the hedge and saw a plain room. Several students were off to one side, behind bars. Most of them were crying, though a few seemed more interested than afraid. Maybe they thought this was all part of the fun. Standing over a body in the center of an enormous seven-pointed star, Sera was chanting words I mostly didn't understand. Large black candles burned a peculiar blue light at each of the tips. On the ground nearby, wrapped up in make-shift cocoon, lay Heather.

But Celeste’s grip on his jacket tightened. “Oh no!” Celeste’s pout deepened, her voice dripping with honeyed innocence. “It’s stuck.” Vivi took a step back, already looking for an exit. Her eyes darted toward the hedge lining the side of the garden. A small opening, barely visible beneath the overgrowth, stood just a few feet away. A sign, half-hidden beneath the leaves, read: Hedge Maze Entrance. Knox was still trying to free himself from Celeste’s grip, his expression turning stormy as she “struggled” with the buttons on his jacket. Celeste’s hand lingered far too long on his chest, her smile overly practiced.

I started, “I have seen where the dark witches will take them. They took the portal as a way of making us think they are going to another realm, but they aren’t. They aren’t far from us. There is a cave just outside our borders that leads to a tunnel system. They are in the tunnels.” Heather added, “I have an ability that lets me see underground. When we find them, I can open a small crevasse, Lena can levitate them from there, and I can shut it.” Pops asked, “What happens if we find them, but they are chained?” Heather grinned, “If they are using a lock or handcuffs, I can create vines that will pick the locks without the witches even noticing.” Pops looked at nana and they both raised thei

Suddenly they stopped. “Huh? What’s the matter?” She looked up at him. “Sir, Ma’am.. Look up.” The old lady said. Heather slowly raised her head. Her pupils shrank. Mistletoe! Her breath hitched in her throat. It was as if her neck became stiff, she couldn’t move it. “You may pass–but you have to kiss..” The old lady said. “Well–that’s what she said.” His lips curved up in a bright smile.

At dusk, the setting sun shone through the black metal fence of the house in the southern suburbs, casting a warm light over the hydrangeas in the courtyard. Grace was lying on a reclining chair, enjoying the evening breeze. Maureen was carefully peeling oranges right next to her. Suddenly, a gleaming black car pulled outside the yard. Heather, supported by Timothy, stepped inside. Grace glanced up and smiled. "What brings you here? Are you looking for Willow?" Heather's hair was disheveled. She stumbled forward, falling to her knees beside Grace's chair.

“Stay away. All the catty witches will start fighting over them. Sit back and let the competition take themselves out. Those two will take any women mixed up with them down when they fall. They are trouble on two or four legs. Sexy trouble, but trouble.” Heather’s words annoyed Rose. Heather was always a little jealous. She was the daughter of the Rolling Meadows Pack Healer.
