I asked as I tried to crawl up from the hard floor. I stood, making my way to him, but his cold gaze stopped me in my tracks, as he took few steps towards me. Unconsciously, I took some steps backward. The more he came forward, the more I moved back. My feet slipped off a ledge, and it took me a moment to realize we were standing on a cliff, overlooking a large flowing water. "You are a disgrace and an embarrassment to this Pack, Ophelia. I curse the day the moon goddess gave you as a mate to me."

Alpha Amal had done the same and was ready to have the shift in the garden as usual. She sidled to his side and watched him carefully as he went about his business. Everyone was careful not to touch him, because it was obvious he carried a lot of anger about the situation he had been put in.
