September 2003 Ashton POV I am flying into Montreal, so that I can head to Blue River pack and start setting up their security. This trip has been weighing on my mind since I made the agreement with Alpha Johnson. It’s always nerve wracking going to another Alpha’s territory, at least for me it is, but to go there to do a job, means that I have to really mind my P’s and Q’s and make sure nothing goes sideways. When I land there’s, a car waiting to take me up to the pack house. It should take about an hour and a half to two hours, give or take, which isn’t too bad. It seems like most of the packs stay about that far from humans. While this is the ‘St. Bruno’ pack they are actually closer to M

The North Pack mansion was a fortress of glass and white stone, perched high on the snow-dusted peaks of the Rockies. Unlike the warm, cedar-scented air of the Medina River Pack land, the North was crisp, smelling of pine needles and ozone. Inside the grand study, the atmosphere was typically one of quiet efficiency—until the morning the letter arrived.

Training this year has definitely helped him. I look up and see we are driving through the mountains and about to hit the tree line where our pack lands begin. It’s not the largest pack by any stretch. To be more accurate we are probably one of the smallest packs in the country. As we get closer I can see the town come in to focus. It is a small town in the middle of a clearing with the dense forest on either side. Some people reside on the outskirts of town like Hudson’s family but for the most part pack members reside in the town. We turn down main street passing the pack house and a lump forms in my throat as we pass. I force myself to look away, shoving my thoughts to the back of my mind

ASHER The next day, we began our ascent up the mountain. The Sky Pride Pack resided near the top of these hills, and it was a grueling journey. Speed and swiftness had no advantage on steep hills, which was how Sky Pride had remained intact throughout the years, while other Packs suffered from constant wars and disputes. The location was advantageous and strategic, and while the climb was far from ideal, I had to admire their resilience. None of us had ever visited this technically autonomous Pack before, nor had we expected to have such difficulty. We had to abandon most of our belongings on the way, as they only weighed us down and made the climb more cumbersome.

Alpha Jake stepped out…The Moon Howl Pack’s Alpha is from the western territory, just three hours away.

I change into my trenchcoat with nothing underneath it I wear my black thigh highs with a gutter and 4 inch black pumps I am going to deliver Mr Parker's Linch By midday I walk back down stairs my mother and her friend are nowhere in sight ,I get in my Mother's Range Rover SUV that she barley drives passing by a popular burger joint by to grab me and Hottie some lunch before Lunch heading to his office jamming to Jhené Aiko On the way. I am literally driving wet thinking about all the things Mr Parker could do to me Gosh I can't wait to get there. I drive in the Parking lot of Mr Parker's office

Alden’s car has optimal heating, but I can see the way the lush grassy meadows turn to dry tundra. The mountains dusted with snow that once lined the horizon came closer with every mile, until we were driving up the winding roads. Snow lining the road seemed to get thicker the more we climbed, until the roads were icy and mist crawled along the asphalt. Alden’s car seemed to have no issues. “Independance Pack mountains,” Alden explains to me, answering the question I had been tossing around my head. “Not many inhabit. Faye’s Pack is along the border.” “Are we heading there?” I ask.

I smack his shoulder playfully. He laughs, “Then don’t drop your block, princess.” I just roll my eyes. When we finally arrived at the packhouse, I realized we weren’t in Texas anymore. It was MASSIVE and situated so high in the mountains of Colorado that I was afraid I might get altitude sickness. Ares insists I drink a bottle of water every hour to prevent me from this and possibly hurting our pup. The packhouse was unbelievably beautiful and the views from inside were breathtaking! I felt like I could see every state that borders Colorado from here!

Just then Hunter scampered up to us. “I got his line.” “Which way.” “Headed North.” “Toward the WildWood?” Vanquish asked in surprise. “He must be thinking if he can make it there, we won’t follow him in.” Racer suggested. “We can’t.” Vanquish agreed. “Not with the wolf-hunting-Roamer there.” “What’s that?” I asked. “A troll. I think.” Racer murmured. “A giant. He hunts anything with fur and ears that seems like it might be a wolf.”

I was accepted into my first run, the Blue mountain pack about six hours south of Whitefield, New Hampshire six months later. Soon the dense forest thins out revealing a massive complex much bigger than all the packs I’ve been to so far. The pack house is easily identifiable, as it’s always the first building anyone entering the territory by car will see. The complex is well lit giving it the appearance of a small city illuminating the pack house against the moonlit sky.
